If you think you have a good team, wouldn't you want to play the good teams in other conferences too? That way can see how really good or need work on your team....The best always plays the best to see who the best.

That way can see how really good or need work on your team....The best always plays the best to see who the best. Right now the best belongs in the Big West and they play two of them on the road including a Byu team in Provo where Hawaii has always done poorly. I don't like the way the schedule turned out but what's done is done and you work with what you have. If that bites them on the a**later on then so be it. What Hawaii needs to worry about is to simply win, win, and just keep winning.

Hawaii did what it did for what ever reason they did it. You can't have the top ranked teams simply play each other...how will you grow the sport?
Hawaii plays the MPSF teams enough to get a gauge of where they are against teams outside of the Big West. The Big West is what they need to focus on.

USC and Stanford are solid MPSF teams, but IMO, this is where the true season starts, UCI, Pepperdine, BYU, UCSB, and the Beach. The crowds at the Stanley should get a lot bigger and louder. Awesome!

Tbh, it will either be close between the two or either team has the ability to dominate the other. That is how even I believe they are but also my belief that either team can just turn it on and be lights out. I expect a hard fought fight nevertheless.

I think Wade intentionally scheduled weak pre-season to preserve the health of the team because he knew all tough matches are on the road. I think UH will make it to the tourney this year because they have a weak SOS. Hehehe.Having the number 1 SOS last year was a bad luck . And who has the top SOS this year? UCSB? Example of last year. Strong SOS you’re out. Weak SOS you’re in:)

SMH I try not to think about last years post season fiasco, but it keeps popping up.This is the year the Bows need to beat all the great teams at home and on the road so they don’t gotta worry about the self interest weasels on the selection committee who are only intent on greasing the rails for their own teams. Bows need to play with that chip on their shoulder to keep focused on the goal of winning the national championship.

Why can't Hawaii seem to be able to schedule Loyola Chicago for some games?, When was the last time they played one another? What's the barrier that's keeping the Warriors and the Ramblers from seeing each other from opposite sides of the net? I’ve heard rumors Hawaii is coming to Chicago to play Loyola next year, no clue about Loyola going to the island or why they rarely play Too bad they couldn’t get to Chicago this season for Solbrig’s senior year. Solbrig should have redshirted his first year , oh well.

By the way I really like Thelle, he’s improving a lot and learning from J Worsley. IMO he’s already ahead of both J Worsley and Franciskovic when they were freshman. Needs to work on being a floor leader in the offseason.

Hawaii can still make a run next season. They'll just need a second middle to rise up.
BTW, anyone else think Cowell's journey is reminiscent of Tony Ching? Another local, small outside that came in as a walk on and then hit their stride by the junior year? Tony Ching was a beast of an athlete and really became a fantastic outside during his development at UH. Very similar games.

I think both Cowell and Ching were set on going to UCSD until UH coaches changed their minds.

Then again his senior year w/the vacated national championship the pin hitter trio they had would all be considered undersized now. Makes me miss Eyal Zimet, probably my favorite Warrior volleyball player.
