I just looked at Hawaii's cumulative season stats. Pretty solid to have all 5 hitters in the starting lineup hitting at .480+ or more thus far in the season.

Hawaii can still make a run next season. They'll just need a second middle to rise up. BTW, anyone else think Cowell's journey is reminiscent of Tony Ching? Another local, small outside that came in as a walk on and then hit their stride by the junior year? Tony Ching was a beast of an athlete and really became a fantastic outside during his development at UH. Very similar games. I agree. Even though Hawaii loses some key pieces, they also bring back more key starters than most of the high powered teams.

By the way I really like Thelle, he’s improving a lot and learning from J Worsley. IMO he’s already ahead of both J Worsley and Franciskovic when they were freshman. Needs to work on being a floor leader in the offseason. True. And his serve is straight nasty!

One heck of a performace by the bows this weekend! I hope they continue to improve and are not peaking too early.
Can anyone tell me the Bows commits for 2019 and 2020?
They will have alot to replace, but hopefully they can put some hardware in the trophy case before these seniors go!!

There are posters mentioning a Brazilian MB (not sure for which class).

3 Fab 50s from this season class redshirted. Cole Hogland, Devon Johnson and Brett Sheward. Also RS is Alakai Todd. These kids looks like “down the line” type of players because Wade is bringing in such accomplished international ones so I hope the kids like Johnson and the rest of the gang continue to work and battle. There time will come.
Besides a Brazilian MB being mentioned, I also read a potential Serbian OH so the talent will still be there. It will be a matter of team chemistry and if some of these players are willing to play team ball and not be too concerned with their own stats.
This current team have great chemistry and are truly great teammates. Nobody is pouting nor complaining about lack of sets or stuff like that.

Our freshmen will benefit from seeing the high standard of play exhibited by our veteran players. Fortunately, we have a solid nucleus of returning veteran players in 2020. Losing Joe will be a major hit, but the Bows are heavily stocked with setter talent: Thelle, Van Eekeren, Sheward and Walmer. Thelle looks to be the frontrunner. Before the injury to his non-hitting hand, Humler was playing like a D1 veteran, he is an impressive recruit. As far as filling the MH2 slot, well that's anyone's guess, lets hope we sign that Brazilian.

Proven in any recent year someone always transfers out. The incoming recruit is loaded with talent. Hoping nobody becomes dissatisfied of how their season turns out.

Can Dimi or Humler play middle? That second middle blocker spot looks weak link to me. Maybe Dimi can play MB for one year and then move to OPP when Rado graduate. Got to put all your best athletes on the floor. OR Like mentioned above we get that Brazilian MB. Hope he at least 6-8 and can touch 12 ft..hehehe.

Before you put anyone new into the line up they would have to prove themselves. Rado hardly played his first year and Colton didn’t really play until his red-shirt Junior year.

Does emailing the coaches at Hawaii about some VB prospects ever work out in the past. I say this because I've emailed the coaches at Hawaii about some uncommitted mainland and international VB OH and MB prospects before, messaged them the prospects highlights and means to contact them, thinking that they could recruit the players, but as it turns out nothing came of it. There are still some MH/MB prospects that, so far that I know, have yet to commit to a program, but I don't know if I'm doing it right or maybe I should leave this job to the coaches.

I would inform the players themselves to contact coaches. Let them inform the coaches they are interested and send some highlights.

Hawai Coaches know what they want in a player skill as well as attitude that will match their program and team. Practices are most likely better than their games and thats why they are so good. A lot of players left last year. If you watch during and after their games, they all get along and support each other.

Before you put anyone new into the line up they would have to prove themselves. Rado hardly played his first year and Colton didn’t really play until his red-shirt Junior year. I think sometimes you can see how good some player’s skill sets are by not only the way they play but how they do in high level international competitions. Humler would have started if SVT or Rado was not on the team. I think Dimi will be in that position next year. Good enough to start but not enough open spots. Dimi looks explosive in some of his clip.
