BiK is Totally, COMPLETELY correct. Besides the Final Four oftentimes being a proverbial crapshoot, most everyone knows that Regional Finals are some of the toughest matches ever! THEN: FF.

Technically Stanford is “reloading” a class too early. I’m not sure the scholarship situation but they will be stocked with tons of scholarship-type players in 2019.

Ucla is going to dominate in beach vball simply becos it has the advantage for being a public school. Beach vball allows 6 scholarships and it will be cheaper for California players to walk on. Furthermore Sealy allows players to cross over which means their beach program did not pay anything to get the services of Sponcil Muno May and Simo last year. Their contributions were huge for the beach program. Metzger better not burn his bridges with Sealy Well, nobody who played for UCLA last season was a walk-on - they were all getting either beach money or indoor money. Very few top players are interested in walking on at any program, they are all looking for scholarship $$. However, here's where I think your point has merit: UCLA's two primary rivals in California are private schools, USC and Pepp. An in-state family with a kid getting an offer for, say, a 50% beach scholarship at UCLA might find that more attractive than the same offer by two very expensive private schools. UCLA will likely phase out the two-way player model. Mac May looks to keep playing both, and I think Harrer wants to play beach as well. But off the top of my head, I can't think of any other future UCLA indoor commits who are beach players. I shouldn’t have used the phrase walk on. I know beach vball scholarship money can be split and California recruits will have lesser to pay after receiving partial amount. As Long as the scholarship limit is cap to 6, things will work in UCLA’s favor since it is a public school and in Southern California. I hope Jessica Smith will Consider doing both

I’m usually a huge fan of these rankings (still am, FYI) but this one was wonky.
Fields is fantastic and going to be very fun to watch, but the next Megan Hodge she is not.
Phillips not being in the top 10 is crazy to me, especially if we’re basing this list on potential.
Didn’t realize Vicinni was so highly regarded? Haven’t seen her play in a while but having a hard time believing some of the middles she’s ranked ahead of have less potential.
Still think Kipp has the most upside of any recruit in this class.
Either way, this was fun to read. Everyone should give a huge “Thank You” to JT for compiling this list. A lot of effort put into it. Pay the $35 annual fee and support this community.

Can’t believe UCLA still can’t land a TOP 5 senior ace in 17 years while Stanford could just get 3 in one year! Remember when Consani was subbed out after the first set with the team only hitting 070 against Stanford and Moenoa came in to set for around 300. Consani started the next match and Moenoa was benched for pretty much rest of the season. Can't remember if we ever sussed the reason, nepotism etc. Wasn't Sealy friends with her parents? The smart recruits or their relatives pay attention to VT, as they should.

I was surprised she didn’t redshirt that year or maybe she didn’t want it and just want to move on. Consani has Lowe to make her looked good and earned conference HM honors. Pretty sure she is the worst blocking UCLA setter I seen. Having early success gave Sealy a big head and he really messed up the Moenoa and Strehlow situation. He should just stuck with one of them. Unfortunately the only season Moenoa was fully healthy was the season she battled Strehlow. Pretty sure Sealy and the Moenoaes are no longer tight. Having the worst ever season for ucla in 2013 was the humble pie he needed and recruiting has improved with the hiring of Nielsen. At least this year he only pulled the starting setter when she was ineffective but it is only two games so far let see how things go.

Dude (or dudette), this is a thread dedicated to the top 100 SA's and their new schools; NOT a bruins-only based one. There are a number of other threads where that is more appropriate, ok?

Sometimes you reload early because the talent is there vs the following year (in this case 2020). They also need to replace Hayley Hodson ... oh wait

Moenoa's mother told me she was completely healthy her senior year when they played against Stanford and the remainder of the season she spent on the bench. I bet Sealy and the Consanis go way back.

I know she is committed to the beach program only. She is a 6-1 freshman who can still grows and she can pound the ball If she is getting beach scholarship money, she can't play indoors. Only way would be convert her to an indoor scholarship.

I thought beach kids could play indoors, but they had to wait two years before doing so?
