If she is getting beach scholarship money, she can't play indoors. Only way would be convert her to an indoor scholarship. I thought beach kids could play indoors, but they had to wait two years before doing so? Assuming that UCLA is using all 12 scholarships, that would put them over the limit bc any beach player on a schollie counts against the indoor limit of 12. I think that's probably what gobruins is talking about. Now if they had an extra schollie that year for some reason, it should be ok. (It's like how someone who plays BB and VB counts against the BB scholarship limit. You can't have them on both teams, then give them a VB scholarship to get around the BB limits.)

I forgot about that indoor scholarships count first for beach athletes.

Peyton Wilhite committed to Georgetown.
I know Van Niel is with USC now, but I wonder if there will be any fallout with USC trying to recruit Coast in the future since they dropped Wilhite due to injury?

"Family Over Everything đź’™ Headed to the Hilltop!!!" http://instagr.am/p/BnSPquhnRVq They had too many 2019s considering the transfers (which filled a pressing need) and their 2016-18 classes (or who is left of them). Something had to give.

I really stopped paying too much attention to the Senior Aces Top 100 after the 2016 or 2017 list. Shook #6 Newsome #36 Deluzio HM. I watched Shook set two balls and could tell she was not the #6 recruit. She has improved a lot but I felt bad for the players hitting off of her last year. What is the Criteria being used? Where they are currently or potentially how good they can be? Is it a group of people or just one guys opinion? Not trying to be an ass but I think people put so much stock into the list. Kids all react differently to the college game.

Trying to think of a top team that doesn’t have at least 2 top 10 kids Can you name a top 20 team that doesn’t have top 10 recruit??

Shook is the #6 recruit on the #5 team in the country however she is being beating out by a player that was not even a prep volleyball honorable mention. I also don’t think Washington State has a top 10 recruit. I don’t know outside of the Pac-12.

Wisconsin has 5 top 10 recruits on the floor Nebraska, Texas same, Minnesota has 3 or 4 top 10. See a pattern here? It’s a good harbinger but not all players live up to their ranking and sometimes players slip through the cracks. Shook is setting the wrong type of team and was likely overrated. Again, prep VB can correct me, but the poll is part potential based when ranking a player.

Kids all react differently to the college game. Agree. And some studs aren’t even on the list because they aren’t promoted by their high school or club coaches and just don’t have the visibility. Political. None of this is true. Zero. The list is determined EXCLUSIVELY by college recruiting coordinators. Lack of promotion is meaningless. Lack of visibility is meaningless. The issue with Brynna is what position was she going to play? She could hit, set and defend and did all three during her prep career, kind of like Zana Muno at UCLA. As for Shook, what wasn't to like? She was tall, the daughter of a former professional golfer and had been setting SPVB 18s to success for years. What in her background or DNA suggested anything other than that she'd be great in Austin? The list is predictive not intended as cold, hard fact.

Hentz was the #1 ranked Libero in 2016.

10. Stanford 9. LSU 8. Michigan 7. USC 6. Baylor 5. Stanford 4. Nebraska 3. Stanford 2. Stanford 1. Texas Go Card! No matter what some posters would say, Stanford is reloading with some pretty good players. I have projected Kipp and Baird to be in the top 5, Xu in the top 10 and Vicini in the top 20. No. 71 Berty was named CA State Player of the year! KIPP was all-State 2nd team. Xu wasn't listed (maybe due to her injury.) Perhaps JT should do a re-ranking top SA 100 again to reflect after their senior year. I don't think Berty should be no. 71. She should be in the top 10.
