I agree With the returning players having to start. I have noticed that RAMS rewards playtime with performance. This also drives players who want to play to push and train. I believe the Wahine are going to show us a new chapter in this upcoming season.

Krug was behind all season due to her knee injury and still produced solid results. I think with a whole season of workouts along with removing her brace, she could be a force. We lose size with Burns leaving but will gain athleticism and quickness in both Williams and Krug. Igiede have some great upside but I’m still concerned about her playing at a lower level in HS and have not seen the kind of quickness and speed needed to compete at the D1 level. Maybe it better to redshirt her, get her bigger and stronger, then get 4 solid year out of her. But we shall see. She could come in and wow us all with her hitting and power. The one thing about Igiede is that there is no video of her Senior year play, as far as I know. What we all can only go on is video of her playing in her Junior year. We do not really know how much she has really improve from her Junior to Senior year in High School. From all indications she improved a lot, from what her coach has said. I mean, she could have improved so much that she could be on the same level as Westerberg, who really knows. But that would be a BIG PLUS for the Wahine and Robyn, if she has improved that much. Maybe it’s a good thing there was no video. Other big time schools might have came in and tried to steal her away. I know she put up mind blowing numbers and is all state but with no video, it’s hard to judge. We have no idea if Robyn and staff recruited her as a project or a potential starter. Either way, glad she is on the team. I think she will have a bright future.

The thing about all the returning, and incoming players are that the majority of them can play multiple positions. Giving Robyn a lot of options when deciding on a Starting Lineup. Just by the kind of players she has recruited it seems Robyn is looking for players that can play multiple position, not just locked in on one position. Who is even to say that Iosia will be the starting Setter next year. Robyn could pick up an outstanding transfer Setter allowing Iosia to play another position. and also set, like she did this year. Iosia, another multi-talented player.

She also came from the south. Kind of unnoticed until she got here. Maybe, Igiede will be like that. Hopefully, so. I do not believe Robyn and staff recruited Igiede as a project, knowing how badly she needs protential starters. In fact, I do not believe any of the recruited players were being recruited as projects, but only as potential starters.

The one thing I know is
“In Robyn We Trust”
She will guide this team with the help and guidance of her staff to lead the players to a great season.
Great recruits senior depth and tremendous leadership from all Star coaches.
God Bless the Wahine

http://instagram.com/p/BkTjFcBgpbU Here is one video I found on Amber from this year. I also noticed that she change her body dramatically. She looked a little heavy in her Jr. year videos. She look much leaner this season.

Is there any other videos of her in transition or slide?
Does anyone have links to the other recruits for video?
Full game? Love to see what we are looking forward to.

Mahalo I don’t think she is a “slide/step out” type. Most video of her is hitting the quick “1” or “2”. If UH want to do step outs or slide, Robyn is going to have to keep Westerberg there. She seems to be the one who I can see do with efficiency.

Kalei Greeley was not a terminator like Kanani Danielson, Kim Willoughby, or Emily Hartong, but she was enough of a terminating threat at OH2 to keep the opposing players honest. Greeley put down some key kills in many many matches. When she was in the game, we NEVER worried about her, unlike other OH2s.
If Riley Wagoner or anyone else can be that Kalei Greeley-type player, I'll be more than happy.

She has all the athleticism, and volleyball IQ, to be a solid all around player. I do not believe she will ever be a true terminator type player, but she can be a very solid OH2 player.

She seems to be the one who I can see do with efficiency. You never know. Some players pick it up very quickly. I think they said Jasmine Gross (USC) had never run a slide before this season and she's been good at it all year. (I know it was one of the USC middles.) OTOH, Tami Alade (Stanford) still can't run a slide and they've tried to get her to at least last year and before this season started. They probably tried before that, too, bc, ideally, every middle should be able to run a slide. Let's hope that all the players who are potential middles for Hawaii will either know it already or pick it up quickly.

It’s good to have a a variety of shots but if you become a dominant “1” hitter, you will cause all kind headache for your opponents. The men’s game doesn’t have the slide so it’s not really all that vital but it’s definitely good to have in your arsenal.

Westerberg looks to have a heavy arm, probably harder than Maglio or Mitchem had in the middle.
