Looks like the plan is Jacobs at OH2 and McCall at OPP. Better ball control from Jacobs probably played into that decision?
This leaves Hadrych on the bench. Wouldn’t be surprised if she transfers. There are a couple of good freshman pins on the bench too.

Graduate from undergrad and then have two more years of eligibility.

I’m sure the portal will be interesting post season with players getting a year back.

Sealy won’t develop recruits and just shops the transfer portal every spring. Incoming freshman and future recruits should beware. UCLA's only weakness this year is they only have Sealy-recruited setters.

Assuming Hadrych is healthy (anyone know?) the fact that Jacobs & Ndiaye started the first weekend suggests Sealy is choosing the best players, even if they are freshman. In my experience, that's what freshmen want - a chance to compete. The irrational Sealy hate is funny. If Hadrych was playing over Jacobs or Ndiaye you'd say that he wasn't developing them and that "future recruits should beware". Meanwhile Kelly Sheffield gets praised for having a deep gym (as he should).

Charitte may also challenge for a outside spot with a cannon arm, amazimng hops and excellenrt ball control great back uo but can she break into the starters. Francesca Alupei could help provide an answer at NB a 6 foot 4 inch girl who has been playing some with the n\Rumanian National team. Can someone give me the info on Charitte? Thanks

I don't think I saw Hadrych on the sidelines for either game, so she may not be healthy at the moment. Or there may be protocol that only allows a certain number of players on the sidelines at Pauly?
Either way, I think assuming Hadrych is going to transfer after one weekend is kind of a stretch. She doesn't have the passing skillset that Jacobs or McCall has and that's what has her at 3rd or 4th on the depth chart, depending on how you rank McCall (as an OPP, OH, or both).
She also doesn't seem to be the blocker that Light is, which may be why she isn't the "next player in" at OPP.
I do think that if Jacobs really struggles, Sealy will slide McCall to the left and put Hadrych in with Lane on the right. It'll be hard to put her on the left with all the substitutions this team uses in the 6-2 unless Hadrych drastically improves as a passer. We already hide May when possible; there's no way to hide them both unless we pass with 2 while McCall is front row.
And there's no formal indication that May or Light returns in the fall, so there's still opportunities for Lexi in the future.
Right now, with no guarantees the PAC gets more than 1 At Large bid for the tournament, you have to play the best of the best to win as many games as possible. Hadrych started on the bench last season, behind a S/OPP, before making her presence known for the rest of the season. There's no telling what could happen in the future, maybe as soon as next weekend where Oregon has clearly made it known they are healthy and ready this year.

Yeah, I didn’t mean to imply that she was going to transfer after one weekend. I should have said that if this lineup continues, she may transfer because she isn’t going to get much playing time with the pin depth.

It's actually an interesting conversation to have for once. The Bruins have been lacking depth at the pins since the days of Love/Kidder. Injuries and average-at-best OHs is all we've had on the bench for a long time.

After watching the series against Oregon, it’s time for Sealy to go to a 5-1 with Chang. McCall moves to the outside. Jacobs DS for Ndiyae.
