Maybe they go to UCLA in spite of him True. That is still the case with the softball (head) coach. Assistants are awesome. UCLA softball almost gets whoever they want, or a high enough % to have one of the top 5 recruiting classes every year. There is no reason Volleyball cannot do the same, if the coach is well regarded. And maybe there are some we would have welcomed who did NOT commit to UCLA precisely because of him. I haven't read of a single feeder club that actually thinks he is a good coach. THAT is the kiss of death. I disagree. The geography of talent really doesn't lend to UCLA having a top 5 recruiting class year in and year out even if they DID have a positive gym/coach culture (not saying they don't know, I don't know).

Running a modified 6-2 against Georgia: Harrer sets in the back row and then playa OPP in the front row (Chang sets). Mosser only playing 3 rotations at OPP while Simo and May play 6-rotations. Wish Hadrych was in there too

Wish Hadrych was in there too They tried her out in rotation 1 so Harrer didn't have to hit off the left side but Hadrych ended up with a hitting error. I agree though -- she needs to be in there. I like what I saw of her against Nebraska.

I like what I saw of her against Nebraska. I think against the higher level teams they need Hadrych there in place of Simo. Nothing against Simo, but Hadrych has the height advantage. To only have Hadrych play in those high level matches is a terrible way to build her into the game unfortunately.

Looks like they had Harrer play all the way around in a 6-2.
UCLA fans were REALLY hard on her, but Beuchler really made this team A LOT better. She was overall, just such a steady player and a good presence on the court.

I want you guys to have a look at a coach that puts Sealey's coaching demeaner to shame. He is Marquette's coach. A team that fights and fights and fights against match points and comes out on top, beating BYU and now Wisconsin in one week, after losing the first set in both.
This guy would be a great coach for UCLA next year.

This I’ve had my crack at Beuchler too, but she was really solid her junior and senior seasons. They could really use a 6ro player of her caliber since she’s left Hopefully Jacobs could fill that hole next year, thought it was going to be Hadrych after Reily left

That's not really modified, since 6-2 stands for 6 hitters 2 setters. Doesn't really specify if one player plays both roles

If anything, the most traditional form of the 6-2 is if both setters are also hitters and no substitutions are needed.

They should move Simo to libero and put Hadrych in The only problem I see with this is, from what I watched in the Nebraska match, Hadrych is not a strong passer so they move her out of the passing line-up which would leave just Simo and May passing. May isn't a strong enough passer to be in a two-passer play.
