All kinds of new stuff happening at UNC - New Jersey’s, new volunteer coach. Anyone know anything about this coach? Seems like she has QUITE the volleyball and professional resume. Will be Interesting to see what she brings to the table with her varied experience. I am not sure how much impact a volunteer coach normally has, but seems like she can bring some knowledge to them from the perspective of the athlete, not just the coaches. Might be a very cool resource for everyone involved.

Esterly and Fradenburg named team captains....so for now it looks like they get starting nods.

I expect Archer to get to set some and Moseman to be a DS for Harrison. On the pins I can see Wine getting time some and Tontai getting some in at OPP

S: Atherton L: Fradenburg OH: Harrison OH: Austin OPP: Cox MB: Howard MB: Esterly For the love of Esterly 😂😂. Anyone seen what’s going on during open gym? Are they practicing or braiding each other’s hair? Any idea when the roster will go up? LOL i really like Esterly and shes a shut down blocker, but we also need middle offense and shes proven that she is not reliable there. I think Raleigh deserves a spot to prove herself. She was more impressive to me in the spring. I know they have been hitting the weightroom hard. Im also waiting for roster. My guess would be just prior to ACC coaches meeting next week.

They probably just want to make sure all players are in place - I don’t think any other UNC rosters have been updated either. Glad to hear the freshman are good, I hope they can contribute as much as they seem to need to- what an opportunity for them to contribute right from the start, not every athlete gets that chance. There are some key returnees as well that will carry this team to the next level, or the previous level. UNC has the pieces, now they just need to put them all together.!

[ I think Clark should definitely be given a long leash to see what she can produce. She is an athletic specimen with the height and power needed to succeed. Maybe with different pin options than last year she will be able to up her block game so that she can get some consistent opportunities. There are also lots of new options in the DS roll that I am very curious about. I think they can really help the receive and defender if given the opportunity. Does any of them really stand out? I hear Olivia Diaz is a dynamo? Agreed. What will really help is Cox being on the right side. She is a very good blocker who can shut down an opposing left side hitter. What i have seen of her is that with some time, I would put her up blocking some of the best left pin hitters in the nation. Not there yet, but she has that potential. I think Clark is more well rounded and would complement our pin hitters better than Esterly. Clark also has high level experience with the Team USA pipeline. I thought the DS that would make eyes pop would be Diaz....she is fast and digs bombs. But I am very much impressed with Wurl.....Wurl came from a good club from the west coast and seems to have a volleyball IQ that is advanced for her age and level....she makes smart moves and reads the defense really well. I think she could be a surprise break out. Glad you see the potential. Optimism must be cautious at this point.....but the roster is stacked on the pins....the coaches just need to figure out the defense IMO.

I had seen a little film on Wurl....she looked impressive but is so much more impressive than the film IMO. She has potential to be a great libero..... Diaz is also very solid.

No Hough... I guess that answers that. Unfortunate as I liked her and was hoping she could continue. But going out and getting another L/DS was probably the wirting on the wall.
