I had seen a little film on Wurl....she looked impressive but is so much more impressive than the film IMO. She has potential to be a great libero..... Diaz is also very solid. In the release finalizing the class, Sagula pointed out that Wurl could be a big contributor as a freshman. So, she may have the edge over Díaz for now.

No Hough... I guess that answers that. Unfortunate as I liked her and was hoping she could continue. But going out and getting another L/DS was probably the wirting on the wall. I liked her, too. But I don't blame her if she was the one deciding to move on. I'm just really ready for the season to start already!

She has a solid 6 inches on the rest of the DS’s that’s going to give her some serious reach capability and if she has the VBall IQ to read the defence that will definitely give her an edge. Love taller defensive players.

I expect Archer to get to set some and Moseman to be a DS for Harrison. On the pins I can see Wine getting time some and Tontai getting some in at OPP Question - when I watched Tontai on the right last year, I saw her hitting more of a “Slide” than a regular swing, is that going to continue going forward? It was effective, but just curious?

Tontai has played middle and OPP for her Greek National Team. However, she is a natural middle which is why her approach from the pins is more of a one step approach. IN a faster offense, this works well because you essentially are running two middle hitters/quick attackers ie) Minnesoate w the Tapp sisters.....
I think that Cox will be the primary OPP with Tontai getting time there if Cox struggles. I do think they have worked on her approach some to hit higher sets, so I think we will see some adjustment. I would not rule out her getting reps in the middle if Clark struggles most likely behind Esterly. Tontai was a little slow to close the block but was pretty good offensively. If she gets reps in the middle, you do not want to force her sets too high on the pins or it can be hard to re-adjust from position to position.

BTW, Moseman and Wurl played for the same club in San Diego, and Casey Jacobs played for the other big club in San Diego. Nice DS pipeline UNC has going to San Diego. Although why anyone would want to move away from San Diego is beyond me - Chapel Hill is Beauty, but .......

Hough is listed on the 2019 roster as a student assistant coach.

The pipeline is definitely a good one. UNC has had some good players from California. I think Wurl will be a very good addition to this team. So excited for practices to start. Our depth is so much better this year and the quality is there as well.

A little feature on Carolina volleyball commit Sophie Fischer She is gonna be a good one. 😊 Is she c/o 2020 or 2021? I thought I read 2021 somewhere but this video has her as c/o 2020.
