Nebraska I think needs to elevate their game a little they didn’t do anything too spectacular in the Minnesota Regional they just played steady and both their opponents pressed too hard and imploded. No we just served and defended them into not looking very good. Go ahead and not give us any credit it doesn’t matter. We will just keep moving on.

All this comparison is wonderful but everything flies out the window when it comes to the final four. There are so many storylines for ILLINOIS. Chris Tamas playing against his old team, Illinois possibly playing against its old coach, JP vs Nicklin Hames ( both playing in their first final four), Defending National Champs vs the Underdogs. Pressure is on NEB for sure. I think Coach Tamas will have us prepped and ready to go. IMO, I guess being defending national champion doesn't mean anything other than the fact the fans don't want to see a repeat, nonetheless see Nebraska repeat. I thought the fun thing about Nebraska is after UK, all pressure is off and they can play freely. Illinois is the better team statistically and had the better season. Nebraska isn't supposed to win the match, especially with a freshman setter going up against Jordyn Poulter. You are right on your storylines. A very fun match-up that I think will be highly entertaining. But I do find it a little comical that you refer to your team as underdogs. Not anymore, my friend. When you have a #3 seed next to your name and finish 2nd in the B1G, you don't get to call yourself an underdog anymore Good luck to you though. Happy for the Illini and look forward to an amazing game. Whatever team wins or loses, it has been a privilege to watch Poulter/Foecke/Maloney/Bastianelli the past 4 years. Illini and Huskers everywhere will be hurting a little when the season ends this year.

Illinois is pretty bad defensive team Badgers outhit Illinois .347 to .294 And Badgers out scored Illinois in the over 500 points they played this year Also outscored Nebraska but that’s becoming a common theme last few years. Doesn’t matter who wins this game as either will get smoked by Stanford. Lol what point are you making? That you’re better than Illinois and Nebraska? Illinois won 2 of 3 against the Badgers. Nebraska played Wisconsin once and it was during their stretch from hell. It was a 5 set loss on the road and I’m pretty sure it was even in scoring after 4. Normally a team does outscore the other when they play once and it’s a 5 set win. Idk what “common theme” you are referencing when attempting to establish this non-existent Badger dominance over the Huskers, but don’t forget who contends year in and year out and who plays bridesmaid. You sound quite bitter pal.. This forum is supposed to be fun right?...right!?😳

Lol k well speaking of Holman, her 2 national championship rings look good on her. She has as many as your programs existence. She played in only one, right? And, Texas ate her lunch in the 2016 national semi-final, I believe Here we go now this thread is done for

horns1 calling on you to answer this question for me... You have really mucked up this thread now by bringing that dummy in here Yes, I apologize. It was my arrogance shining after he was irritating me on another thread and his dissing of Lexi Sun all year, as well as the Huskers' inadequacy and then targeting Minnesota. Just needed to point out one last time which team will be playing on Thursday, and which team will be at home watching. Regardless, that's on me. Apologies again.

No dog in this fight but I'd rather play Neb, I get the feeling that Illinois is the type of team that could freak out like O did to Minn.

Ask Wisconsin what it’s like to play Illinois for the third time in a season after having won the first meeting. Orange & Blue 3-1. Ask Nebraska what it's like to win 2 of the last 3 titles with 3 out of 4 less than a week away. Spoiler: They're excited about it. Ask Stanford how being the defending champs, playing against a team in the Final Four who had never won it all before worked out for them last year

If you think Nebraska was tested at all in either of their match ups you are wrong. This is to not credit Nebraska I think they played steady volleyball. They were solid but they were never really pushed or tested. If you think the level of volleyball they played was comparable to some of the other matches we have seen across the tournament I suggest you watch more than just your team play. Anyone with eyes can see that the same Oregon team that knocked Minnesota out in the round of 16 was not the same one that played you guys in the regional final. Was it they were emotionally exhausted who knows? Also Kentucky gifted Nebraska nearly a set worth of points. That is one of the worst performances I have ever seen from Lilley and Edmond. They never relaxed in their match. I think this is largely to the pressure of playing Nebraska but they weren't really even forcing Nebraska to play great volleyball. This is not to say Nebraska doesn't have the ability to do that I just don't think it was ever displayed over the last 2 rounds. I stand by what I said.

I’m sure Illinois will have quite a few fans at the match but Nebraska for along time has been known for having a really good following at away matches. There has been times in the past that Nebraska may have about as many if not more fans at a school who doesn’t have a very large following of their own. I would be at the match myself but with the grounds crew I work for I wouldn’t be able to take the time off because we are very short-handed & I must be available in case there is snow that has to be taken care off. Nebraska will most-likely have more fans because they have such a large, devoted fan base, but I don't think Illinois will feel like they're playing a true road game. I expect their fans to represent well Most likely? I bet you change your mind Thursday night when Illinois fans are vastly outnumbered by Husker fans

I realize that will probably be the case, but I also think that the Illinois players will get a respectable amount of support, especially when you consider that most Minnesota fans will probably be cheering for the Illini, too

I think this will be a great match. Both teams will be ready to play. I think we could see some deuce sets on Thursday between these two.

Ask Stanford how being the defending champs, playing against a team in the Final Four who had never won it all before worked out for them last year I think there is a huge difference here. Stanford had most of their line up back and was expected to repeat(a new coach however). No one really expected the Huskers to repeat given their graduation losses and at midseason no one really gave Nebraska a chance to still be playing later this week. I think the pressure is off of them right now to just relax and have fun and see what happens. I could be wrong!
