Exciting year for the program but a huge let down at the end. There is a lot to look forward to for next year but this one is going to sting for awhile. Wisconsin needs at least one 6 rotation player that can be a threat out of the back row. Not having a back row attack at all, really allows the block to setup on the 2 or 3 options that are available. Obviously the libero will be a position that needs filling but they already have a few options. Definitely think they will repeat as b1g champs and would be surprised if they weren't in the final four again. Yes very disappointing but wouldn't really use the term "let down". Despite their losses, it was pretty obvious Stanford was going to be dominant come tournament time and near impossible to stop. If Molly can stabilize serve receive and not put her knee down before every defense play she will be a stud in 6 rotations and hitting out of the back.

I am not the least bit mad about this outcome. I am a bit disappointed by how Wisconsin played. But, I am happy at a great season. And, it sure beats a 5th set heartbreaker. When a team is just better, this can happen. Needed Stanford to not play at its best for Wisconsin to pull this one out.

If not a "let down" it was definitely not their cherry on top of an otherwise stellar season. Congrats to the Badgers for an incredible run! I don't think that they were going to be stopped, they wanted to leave their mark and that they did. "Stanford was here" Wonder what their whiteboard said tonight?

i want to say thank you to the seniors. In the end, only one team is not disappointed. It was a great season. One of the best in badgers history. Who knew that coming into the B1G season? You should hold your heads high.

Congrats Wisconsin on a very good year. I thought Wisconsin was the B1Gs best chance at beating Stanford but it just wasn't in the cards. I agree that Wisconsin is a favorite for the B1G title next year but there are a few schools that will push them. Again, well done.

Last night was rough. I’m not sure what happened. We did get them out of system with our serving, but it just... didn’t matter. And then we couldn’t make plays when it counted. I’m wondering if that got some of the players into their heads a bit. We came out swinging in the third, and I was hopeful for a bit, but then it just fell apart again.
Let’s be real, though: Stanford did to us what we did to a lot of other good teams this year. Hoping we can take some good lessons from it for next year. We have our tickets for Omaha already. It’ll be interesting to see how things unfold next season.
I hope the players can rest up and get healthy and reset mentally so they’re ready to get back into the weight room this spring.
For my part, we’ve had a fun time in Pittsburgh, though I did get a tour of a local urgent care due to a daycare plague that mutated on the flight in. Thanks, Rainbowkiddo.

Congrats to the 2019 team Badgers, you ladies really took it to the big show, we couldn't have enjoyed the journey more! Thank you.

I assume we will get banquet news real soon...it's usually near the semester start.
They are going to need to start holding the banquet in the Kohl Center soon!

Badger VB alum Tori Blake (MB, 2013-16), who now goes by Victoria professionally, works for a consulting firm in DC. She appeared on an episode of a podcast on workplace culture to discuss how Sheff implemented the change that turned the team around in 2013. It’s about 25 minutes long, and contains some delightful and new-to-me anecdotes about those early weeks. Link to the recording and transcript below. www.culturedcast.com/podcast/victoria-blake-on-winning-with-a-culture-of-change/I finally am sitting down and read the transcript (preferred over listening for me). Great leadership and a great way to have an all inclusive perspective of achieving greatness within a team, any team and any industry, although this is specifically Wisconsin Volleyball. Paradigm shifts must occur within leadership and must be all inclusive - everybody must be on board. I'm a bigger fan after having read this. I think leadership is responsible for culture and for productivity and a leader is directly responsible for the performance of his/her team. If leadership fails the team fails. If leadership doesn't believe, no one will believe. Thanks for posting this. I really enjoyed it and glad I went back to it to finish it.

Hi. Just now able to start dealing with my disappointment...sort of. Great season for the Badgers...thanks to all of them for their hard work and giving us something beautiful, often, to watch and appreciate. And thanks to all of my fellow Badger fans for all the volley-talk. Have great holidays!

What's so hard is the end of season loss it's easy to wipe out those amazing matches and set points for the season.
I'd love to a see a Montage of 27+ match point celebrations, the Big Ten championship, and all 9 Nebraska sets!
It was an amazing season and once they won set 2 in PSU on early October I enjoyed every minute! (For the record I thought they would lose to OSU).
Banquet January 18.
