Was thinking that myself. Rule of thumb for me: 1) I can't bring myself to root for a BIG team 2) Can't root for Baylor - no matter how nice their coach and team are Leaves......Stanford and Florida? One of them has a high likelihood of reaching the Final. Updated: For those sitting in section 42, row 2. The floor's a little wet with my tears. My bad.
Well since those are my season ticket seats that we go bumped from I’m having a hard time feeling bad for you. 😜

it's tough to believe it's over. we have had volleyball since late august and now....we're done until next august. i just wish i could reach out my arms and give the team a virtual hug and tell them thanks.
i, like many of y'allz, adore Texas volleyball. it is a treat to watch them play and compete.

Same here. When a team we love fails, we have to remember it's harder on them than on us.
Maybe we'll have a good slate of games in the Spring where we can check out the new setter,
who should be arriving early.
Worried that we might be in a period where the team wanders the wilderness (as defined as not the final 4). But we'll have sophmores and juniors in the starting lineup. So, we'll just have to be optimistic and spend the next few months wondering about transfers and recruits.
I may check in once in a while to see who's still playing in the tournament. It's dead to me now.

I think we sometimes forget that our starting lineup had only one senior and the rest are freshmen or sophomores. This team is young and their youth showed. BS!!! Louisville is not a team that should have beat Texas! That was a terrible match and Elliott should have had the team better prepared.

This is a team with again, top ten talent at every position minus setter and libero, but has top ten talent also on the bench. Texas should NOT ever gone five let alone loss. This loss is on the coaching staff. They were out coached in every facet of the game

I really don’t care who wins now as long as it isn’t: Stanford Nebraska Penn State Louisville And Baylor Just to name a few...lmao

Losses happen. You can call it terrible and throw blame around everywhere but that was still our first loss at home this year and fourth overall this season in the regional semifinals of the NCAA tournament. Maybe not exactly where we wanted to end the season due to our high expectations, but it's not a complete disaster like some of you make it seem.

I think a lot of people felt too comfortable with saying Texas was going to win. Texas went 5 sets in the second round. It was clear they were playing shaky and who knew if they were gonna pull it together by the louivsille match. They didn’t. Passing is what killed them. I’m not trying to make an argument cause I know Texas passing doesn’t have the best history, but this season they weren’t a bad passing team. These last two matches they were. I’m from Louisville tho so I’m happy lol. Stare people down through the net every time I get a block or a kill and get beat

I’ve been a Texas fan the past decade or so, and I have really, really enjoyed having Elliot as our head coach. He has taken this program to exceptional heights, and is likely the #1 recruiter in the game.
That being said, his coaching ability does not match. Aside from middles, I rarely see other players coming out more rounded than coming in other than what one might expect just having lots more experience at a higher level. While not many programs have had the level of success has Texas, Texas is not other programs; the expectation is titles. They have had the pieces - overwhelmingly - to have more than one title in the time I’ve followed them. But it always feels like they muscle through wins without playing clean, systematic volleyball. There’s no reason, given the pieces on paper, for this penn state team to outperform this Texas team. Even more so, though, is this Louisville match should’ve never gone more than 4 sets. A well coached Texas roster should, truthfully, always make it deeper than this given the road given to them. Is it time for a change? Or at least an assistant who can coach up volleyball PLAYERS while Jerritt focuses on recruiting?

The Texas recruiting system is absolutely phenomenal. Consistently, Coach Elliott and his team bring in the strongest players in the country. Equally as consistently, however, these players do not perform to their ability and come up short at the end of the season. Don’t get me wrong. I do think that Coach Elliott is talented, but something isn’t working. The teams for years have been slow to start each match. They have also consistently been overconfident and sometimes drop sets or matches that they shouldn’t. As the combination of players continues to change, and the same element still exists, I tend to think that this issue lies in the coaching.

Everybody is calling the Louisville loss a huge upset - they should have lost to UCSB first...that would have completely freaked everybody out!
