Beginning of last season I went out on a limb and picked Nebraska to probably win the BIG. We all know how that turned out. However, Nebraska turned out to be the BIG team to beat in the Post Season. This upcoming season, while going out on a limb again, I am saying........... I just cannot see the same starters, running the same offense, with a different setter, and expecting better results. Is this what Minnesota fans are really expecting? So that being said, I truly have no idea who will or will not Redshirt, but I am hoping and looking for lineup changes, if not running a completely different offense. Those that have more inside knowledge with the program please come forward and convince me otherwise. From what I've read and posted myself, MN fans aren't expecting better results; they simply think the Gophers could do better in the tournament - which isn't that bold of prediction given the vagaries of tournament play. I don't think anyone is honestly expecting a better regular season, even if the tournament result is better. The big take away is that many fans don't feel MN is doomed just because SSS is gone, and believe that while they Gophers may not be as good overall, they can still be very good and have a season that reflects that.

Since craftylefty brought it up, I just realized how large 2021 is. With Miyabe and including Pittman, that's 8 for 2021 while 2020 has 3 (Hart, Litzau, Morgan), 2022 has 5, and 2023 is bringing in 3 in Kilkelly, Rubright, and Husemann. How did a single class year get so large? There was an eye-for-an-eye transfer with Kleinman and Sheehan while 2020 lost Mclean to SC transfer. 2021 also has consistent starters in Barnes, Samedy, and Pittman. How did one class end up getting clogged with talent? And with Miyabe incoming, even more clogged in a single position?
Minnesota has insane depth, I just hope Hugh can keep everyone happy.
Edit: And for that matter, I also hope everyone stays healthy.

I have to wonder if the coaches have scary memories of 2011-12 when we had no meaningful depth at any of the front row positions, especially on outside.
Now we could have an entire team of just outsides! Having the safety net of such good players on the bench is really a great feeling, at least to me. Hope we can keep them all happy and healthy too.

Knee surgery, think she has had problems for a while Right. I knew it was her knee. Just wondered if we knew what specifically was wrong with it. But you're saying it wasn't an ACL tear or something sudden like that?

Plus the class that 2021 was replacing was the Tapps and Wilhite's class, which also included Schau, Eggert, and another player or two if I recall correctly. I also don't know that this is so out of the ordinary, look at PSU's grad class last year, Stanford's rising seniors, etc...

A couple short videos of the first spring practice were posted on the Gophers' Instagram story yesterday.
Nielsen is definitely still there, whew. Hard to glean much else from that. Waiting for the actual roster to be posted.
