I don’t follow Michigan that closely but it seems like they have the pieces to be lethal in the next few years. Can they compete with the Nebraskas and Wisconsins in the next few years? They will have a solid core of hitters with Mruzik, Jones, Robinson, and Pertofsky. What is the incoming setter like? I bet they will miss O’Leary next here to have an experienced setter running the show. What about libero? Who us projected to play for the next few years? I think Michigan has a higher ceiling in 2020 and especially 2021. The setter position is the key; Scottee Johnson is the incoming recruit that will run the offense. Her ability to perform at a high level with all of the firepower at her disposal will determine how far the team can go. If she comes in as advertised, Michigan could be very, very good. Natalie Smith will likely keep the libero jersey for her senior season. Beyond that, we have a couple of DS/L recruits coming in over the next two years. Back row play has been a problem spot for this team since the graduation of Lerg last year (and the departure of Tiffany Clark before that). I'm excited for what's ahead; but Michigan will always be challenged to recruit talent as deeply as Nebraska/Wisconsin/Penn State/Minnesota. I'm hopeful that we can get to a place where we can muck things up a bit at the top of the standings.

Really enjoying replay of @ Illinois match.
Jones is awesome, would like to see her hitting bics next year and move her serving position laterally all the way to the right sideline.

They're in!! I wasn't worried, but I know bprtbone was - winning that marathon vs. purdue would have been nice.

Nice finish to the regular season for Michigan on Senior night as they take out Indiana in 4 sets, likely securing an at-large bid. Monster night for Sydney Wetterstrom who had 20K and hit a career high .562. The team hit .421 for the match; just another pesky patch of poor serve receive kept them from a sweep. Nice touch by Mark Rosen having Ellie Brooks start the match, all the seniors saw action tonight. Lots of tears afterwards as we said goodbye to this senior class. This team is capable of a big upset or two in the tourney if they are firing on all cylinders.

So I know I might be drinking the Blue Kool Aid tonight; but Northern Kentucky --> Kentucky --> Washington --> Baylor--> Final 4 seems possible!?

So I know I might be drinking the Blue Kool Aid tonight; but Northern Kentucky --> Kentucky --> Washington --> Baylor--> Final 4 seems possible!? Certainly seems like the absolute best possible path for a team that wasn't selected as a host. If Michigan comes out of Lexington, this group has what it takes to make a nice run even further. Drawing seeds Nos. 9 and 8 if the bracket goes to chalk certainly helps.
