It went to 5. But that was to be expected given the rivalry. In the end the Wolverines won yhe 5th comfortably, I think 15-7. It sounded Sydney Wettersrom was the player of the match.

Just got back - what a fun, competitive match. Michigan won 3-2: 22-25; 25-22; 25-23; 25-27; 15-8. Spartans came back from 12-18 and fought off two match points in S4. They played terrific scrambling defense all night with Jayme Cox putting on a show.
Paige Jones led the Wolverines with 19K (my unofficial tally); Glavinic had 15; and after a rough start offensively Wetterstrom ended up with 13. Wetterstrom also was involved in the play of the night. On 24-23 set point in S3, she made a crazy save on a ball blasted at her in back middle that knocked her over; it ended up coming back to her after the second touch as she was struggling to get back up and she barely flipped it back over the net. A stuff block from Shannon finished it off.
Encouraging signs for Michigan: Jones back row play, clearly improved; Wetterstrom's ability to fight through early adversity; Welsh's movement and decision making. Worries: blocking game; serve receive and middle offense (although Bair has made big strides on that front, she finished with 8K).
Katarina Glavinic is now my official favorite player on this team. So steady, so smart, makes few mistakes, great attitude.
Spartans were without Naya Gros (who was on the bench but not dressed) and Lauren Swartz who injured herself during warmups. Wolverines were missing Cori Crocker who was on the bench but not dressed.
And now we enter the long, 4 month drought with no live volleyball. Go Blue!

I agree, blocking is weak and we lack middle offense big time. I truly believe Bair will win out her spot over Shannon if Crocker can return and if she cannot, i believe Bair AND Robinson will beat out Shannon. Shannon seems to be a very weak attacker and lacks vision of the ball on the other side to help her blocking numbers.

Big news from the Legacy camp as Madison Dowd, once committed to Georgetown, is coming to Ann Arbor. She will be taking the backup setter spot left open by Erin O'Leary and competing with Scottee Johnson to be the starter in 2020. Welcome Maddie!

I’m sad things didn’t work out with O’leary. I hope all is well with her.
Welcome Madison!!

What is a "Legacy" camp? These days, "legacy" doesn't exactly have a good connotation.
