Just watched the Tennessee match, monserez didn't look like herself... which was good. She really did play well, fanstastic back setting to Kramer and Carlton. Both of them dominating behind the setter in that first set. Her sets to Paige and Thayer weren't 12 feet off the net as usual either. I still think Florida needs a better setter but she played much better against UT than I have seen from her all season so props to her on that Stick to Stanford. It was amazing to me yesterday at the USC-Stanford match how arrogant some of its followers really are. General seating and these tools are trying to move people out of their seats. I can assure you I was not trying to move anyone out of their seats, particularly cause I was in my living room in Kentucky, but we all love generalizations

I used to sit wherever I wanted but if people with tickets to those seats came over, I politely obliged.

"She has not been given the opportunity to prove herself" . . . in games? I would think that three plus years of practicing with the team and spring scrimmages provided ample opportunity to prove she should play ahead of Kramer or Dooley.

While I would certainly not call King overrated as someone did in an earlier post, I tend to agree with your statement here. King has had seemingly ample time to prove herself in the eyes of the coaches. Her time on the floor has been very limited though but she has shown some game at times when given the chance. I think the coaches would be well served to try harder to get her more playing time when possible to develop her skills more. Kramer is coming on lately so I guess she is proving the coaches right for sticking with her. My layman's perception is that the setter is still not connecting well with the MBs on the regular but improving little by little lately. Not consistently sharp though. Too many missed connections or balls set too far off the net causing a kill into the net. The times when Kramer and Dooley get great sets though provide nice glimpses of what could be!

If you know the program that she is in you know there are many players that wait 3-4 years just to get in the lineup. I would disagree with you that she is getting the same opportunities as others to show what she has. Unfortunately I believe her issue is not her talent but more her height. As I stated earlier judge her after she has been given the equal opportunity to play. I think that is only fair.

I miss the days when I could come on this thread and not see the same redundant posts about King's playing time, Monserez' setting, giving Carlton the reins and the coaching staff's abilities.
New topic! I've been looking into next year's recruits a little more. FIVB has Sofia listed closer to 5'11 rather than 6'1 (which I trust a little more than USA numbers). I don't think we've started a 5 foot something outside hitter since Santos-Lamb, and she was about 5'10 and frequently in and out of the lineup because of injuries and inconsistency. Sure, it doesn't really matter for what happens in the 2020 season but it may for 2021. Which then makes me wonder about what the staff will choose to do with Hendrickson. She was the GPOY as an OH and if Marlie beats her out at the setting position, I find it hard to believe that she won't see court time at her size and ability to play on the outside. Thoughts?
