I wish I could remember the post & poster ( Maybe Professor Plum or Shhhhhhh) who said Bruna wouldn't stay at Illinois if she wasn't cleared last year and we were all dreaming.

What good would any of us be without redemption? I hope she plays lights out and at the same time discovers just how athletic she can be without the other in her system. All the best to her.

University of Wisconsin President Donna Shalala defended Bill Clinton’s behavior in the Lewinsky sexual assault. Barry Alvarez’ son tortured animals. Bo Ryan cheated on his wife with state funds. The list goes on and on... I would venture to guess that this is the first time we've seen Monica Lewinsky's name on the volleyball boards. What that poor girl went through. She didn't have (or wasn't allowed to have) any way to contact Bill (I'm assuming they were on a first name basis). So she would often come into her government office on Saturdays, where she would then have to wait (sometimes for hours) hoping for Bill to call and invite her over to the Oval Office to be sexually assaulted.

This article employs some great PR tactics in presenting Buna’s back story... it doesn’t mention her professional career in Italy at all. It focuses on her steroid suspension, noting that it was not the factor that held up her NCAA approval. It presents her as unaware she was doping which is pretty much text book. They really should be honest & state she’s been with the team since last summer, not just this spring. Anyhow, I wish her well and she served her time for the steroid use so as long as she tests negative going forward, more power to her.

The article said Bruna was cleared in February, spent all last school year at Illinois, and was around the team last fall even though she wasn’t on the roster.
It’s literally in the next paragraph after you cherry-picked her only being here in the spring as false.

Let him who is without sin cast the first stone According to the Gospel of John, the Pharisees, in an attempt to discredit Jesus, brought a woman charged with adultery before him. Then they reminded Jesus that adultery was punishable by stoning under Mosaic law and challenged him to judge the woman so that they might then accuse him of disobeying the law. Jesus thought for a moment and then replied, “He that is without sin among you, let him cast the first stone at her.” The people crowded around him were so touched by their own consciences that they departed. Not really into the bible, but with you on this...she is now an Illini, not surprised to see the Badger appear from the swamp again, and the best to all our past regulars that are back and ALL of our newbies. I support all of the young ladies of our Illini VB team - hope all are on board. Hold on tight as thinking it's going to be "fast and furious" - would love to see even just a little bit of the fantastic competition that this seasons practices will bring. WOW - lots of spots possibly up for grabs, and practices could be brutal...

The list goes on and on... Not that it changes the point at all, but I don't think the part about Bo Ryan and state funds is true. I think he was very careful/explicit in not using state funds, actually. Best way to handle trolls is to ignore them. The drug cheats winning comment was quite clearly trolling. So long as she is no longer using PEDs, I am all for 2nd chances.
