I got news for everyone, it's 2020. I know it's Ohio, but please move on. [br Move on from what? Pretty sure he's referencing the thread title (not 2019 anymore).

Highly doubt Theis is going anywhere. He’s building Marquette into something special.

I am definitely not starting a new thread until VT has had a chance to digest the coaching hire.
Otherwise it will be 100 pages of just this.

Its almost poetic - Ohio State stuck in 2019 until a coach is hired.

Highly doubt Theis is going anywhere. He’s building Marquette into something special. Really ‘special’. . .sort of like Harbaugh is building something special, can’t beat his ‘rival’ either. Go Blue. . . IDK about Theis, but I doubt he’s the hire. If OSU is serious, about competing with (Ne, PSU, Wis, Min), the person will be in the mold of Josh Taylor at Missouri. If they want to compete with (Mich, Ind, Iowa, MSU, Pur) to make the tournament ever other year, they will make the audience happy. Sort of amusing from the outside. 🍿🍿🍿 ps If Thies has an offer, he’s there in 2 hours. . .

Competing with Nebraska and Penn St would be nice, but being better than the Wolverines is mandatory.

What is the normal time frame for hiring a coach at a University of this caliber?

What is the normal time frame for hiring a coach at a University of this caliber? depends on time of year. In this case 2-3 weeks is a normal and reasonable timeline.

I agree her class coming in 20 is really good and they have almost everyone coming back. But OSU's 20 and 21 classes are REALLY good and it gets her in the B1G. Other name I heard floating around was Theis from Marquette. If Pitt could play ball against OSU's price, Louisville can as well, and probably better. Don't see her going anywhere. I think people are forgetting Louisville, across the board, pays their coaches VERY well. Athletics gate a lot of money and attention at Louisville. Yes, the same goes for OSU, but DBK has been building this team and just brought them to a historic performance, returns every starter from an elite 8 team, brings in 2 freshman likely to start in their first year. Things are looking good for DBK.

Columbus is cold in the winter, but the school has indoor heating and plumbing so I don't know what the hold-up is.

This hire will be at minimum the 3rd option.
