Swap RJP for Foecke and I agree. Larson won’t play? And for the World Cup it’s 14 roster spots right? Re: Larson - that's just what Hawk Attack would like to see. Yes, 14 spots for the World Cup.

I think based on the level of play present due to the infusion of younger talent. You probably have a point. When it's a bigger tournament USA has only ever won one major title. I am hoping that changes. Don't you? I guess I just don’t see the upward trajectory. Hope I’m wrong. Yes, we have younger players but I don’t think that makes us more likely to win gold in 2020 (compared to going into 2016). There’s a lot more positives than negatives year over year. We should be thrilled that changes have been made even if they aren’t everything we’d like.

Foluke not available and Rettke back in Madison means next up is probably...Hannah Tapp?? She’s had a good summer! Maybe Rachael Adams?? Hannah Tapp all the way! Adams is done. Per her insta, she doesn't think she's "done".

Hannah Tapp all the way! Adams is done. Per her insta, she doesn't think she's "done". I see her olympic repeat chances dwindling. Her chances are looking pretty bleak. I guess what I am hinting at is that just because someone is an Olympian doesn't mean they should just automatically get a look at another Olympics. Only those who are at the top of their game in comparison to the rest of the worlds best and with in the USAWNT gym should be considered for a roster spot. In 2018 we looked stale and sluggish. Age factors into that A LOT. At the World Championships the only players who looked hungry and played well were Larson, Akinradewo and Robinson.....that's it. I know everyone is alarmed that this new look for the USAWNT is very "inexperienced" but you have to start somewhere. My hat goes off to Karch for cleaning house and giving all of these young talented stars some serious roster time. Also worth mentioning.....Adams would might not have made the 2016 Olympic team if Tori wasn't injured. That being said Tori also didn't play well during the 2018 World Champs. Right now the team has good synergy and all of the "bench" players are coming in when a "starter" is struggling and MAKING AN IMPACT. We didn't have that in 2018. I hope all of our girls continue to play professionally as long as they are able to do so and if they want to keep at the grind. But that shouldn't guarantee playing time with the NT. I just think Ogbogu, Washington, Rettke and H. Tapp should all be getting as much court time as possible. Tori probably still has another quad left in the tank especially if she keeps playing in China where the pro season is a lot shorter. I honestly think that any player not on this IOQT roster should be slightly worried about their OG chances. (Lowe, Hancock, Foecke, Adams, Kingdon, Parsons, H. Tapp, etc...) Foluke is the only one i'm sure (if fit) will be at Tokyo.

At least half of those shouldn’t be “worried”. They should probably feel blessed and extremely grateful for even being in consideration.

I definitely think they are all on the outside looking in but still would be in many other countries staring line-ups. So they are doing something right. And honestly with how busy this international season is you really gotta feel for other NT's who don't have as much depth.

And I’m guessing those players know quite well their standing in the USWNT pecking order and their chances for making the Tokyo roster (slim to none), but doesn’t mean they won’t keep working hard, contributing in other tourneys so the A squad can get a break, and maybe move up as some of the vets move on next quad. Again, slim chance for some as they move into their late 20s and newcomers coming in every year, but you never know!

I see by Instagram that Lake, Thompson, and Rettke said yesterday was their last day in the gym for the summer. So that confirms that IOQT will be their last tournament.
There are still a few tournaments to go yet this year...Champions Cup, World Cup, and Continental Championship. Not sure what the US has done in the past...sent the A squad to each? Or will there be a mix of players at the Champions Cup and Continental Championship?

I was very impressed with Thompson more than any of the newbies this year.

Hope one day to see this line-up:
Roster of 12: S: Carlini OH: Larson, Hill MB: Akinradewo, Ogbogu O: Thompson L: Robinson
Bench: Poulter, MBH, Drews, Dixon, Foecke
If 14 spots add Washington and Lake.

Y’all are so forgetful that 2 days ago everyone was saying MBH was the only OH who could crush balls OOS and now she’s on the bench?

Also, who’s to say that Foluke, if she does come back, returns to form. I think we should keep pushing the four middles and assume that’s our pool of options.

Hence my decision.
