Interesting. People will now have a way to prove what Karch is doing wrong. Does Wolfgang play sports video games?

Interesting. People will now have a way to prove what Karch is doing wrong. Does Wolfgang play sports video games? I played hundreds from the EA College Football series to Madden NFL to PES (aka Winning Eleven) soccer to FIFA series to various college basketball games, from the late 1990s to 2016. I have not played hockey, UFC, lacrosse, rugby, or baseball. The volleyball game will probably suck.

It would be cool if this incorporated VR and the PlayStation Move!

Interesting. People will now have a way to prove what Karch is doing wrong. Does Wolfgang play sports video games? You will be able to change rosters? Add Destinee Hooker and Plummer? And change entire offensive systems?

Can we make this into a league? Forgive my ignorance towards contemporary video games, but I'm assuming that you will be able to play this online against others?

Well, well, well, we finally get a volleyball simulation game. But the most important question remains, would it be any good?
Yes I know there have been previous indoor volleyball games, but those previous attempts were decidedly mixed at best.

Well, well, well, we finally get a volleyball simulation game. But the most important question remains, would it be any good? No. Game designers have had many many problems with basketball, football, and soccer games. With the benefit of time and a lot of money pumped into them, they've been able to fix or address a lot of these problems. Volleyball is new. The nuances and physics models will be unlike other games, so game makers are almost starting from scratch because they don't have any other game to base their designs on, except for some beach volleyball games that are out there. I mean, will the game incorporate: Variety of tempo in the sets? Variety of pace of the ball? Solo, double, and triple blocks? Tooling the block vs. hitting line vs. hitting cross court? Passing accuracy to the setter? If the setter can't get to the ball, will another player be able to set that ball? D sets vs. pipe? Off-speed shots? Variety of serves? Substitution patterns? Rotation issues? This first version will probably suck, but future generations may improve if the game makers decide that there's a market for such a game. Of course, if they make the game into an arcade-type game (vs. simulation), who cares about the above. It'll just be using a rudimentary physics model for the ball (i.e., how the ball should bounce, how fast the ball should travel) and letting the hitters hit hard and see if the ball lands in or out. It may be a bit like pinball. In fact, I suspect they'll use a pinball model, which is what soccer used to feel like back in the day.

Some perspective on game development:
You know how in football, the QB can throw a tight fast spiral (short to medium distance) or rainbow lob over the reach of the defender's hands or a Hail Mary bomb? You know how long it took them to incorporate these nuances into football games? Yeah, that's right. Forever. I don't think I saw them until the mid- to late-2000s even though football games had been around since the early 1990s.
Imagine how long the game makers will finally figure out that there's a variety of sets -- and pace and height on the sets.
