I would say they are all winnable and losable, how's that for a firm position? Kentucky lost a couple good players. Lilley and Edmunds are back along with the OH2. I believe this will be the biggest challenge. Pitt went 4 with CP last year, CP setter and MD were playing her 1st college match, Pitt loses ACC setter of the year. They still have Van Buskirk and Williams who are studs. CSU could be a problem in that they lost no one although they had OH issues last year. Passing is key for them as the rely heavily on their MBs to score. Pepperdine lost a good one in setter Sato but have a trio of OH that can make up for less that perfect setting and passing. Utah losing Choy has got to hurt , especially early in the season. Torres got some playing time so maybe the transition is smooth maybe not.

Particularly, having a new HC (Caroline Walters) who is not new to the players, but, new to the title/pressures it brings. Fortunately or not, coach Jason Borchin is back at CAL POLY and they have coached together. CAL POLY will also enter the contest with five seniors & four juniors (healthy of course),...so plenty of experience.

Agree with this, and I would say that Wichita St. and St. Mary's are no slouches either, but I do think that Cal Poly should be able to beat these teams (and the team will have potential to win all of these matches).

When Cal Poly needs to take flight, which local airport do they use? San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, LAX, or San Jose International?

I just left SLO on my way to UCSB via car ... saw a sign for the airport. It must be small and served by just a few flights.

It's a regional airport and it can get expensive depending on the flight but it has scheduled flights to/from a lot of airports -- Denver, Dalles, Atlanta, Seattle (?), Phoenix. You should stop by Solvang and have some Dutch waffles.

She likes their treats, and so do I. That's weird, Dutch waffles in a Danish themed town.

When Cal Poly needs to take flight, which local airport do they use? San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, LAX, or San Jose International? For the Flt to Salt Lake,...use SLO Airport. More expensive, but, save on cost of a charter bus up & back to San Francisco. Who knows the Utes may be coming up with a little green for transportation. The Flt to Hawai'i,...use San Francisco International. (5 Hr 10 Min) (UH subsidizes all BWC teams for travel)

But if it's a chartered bus, I guess it's reasonably comfortable. Whenever I drive to/from Bay Area to SLO, I always stop at either Gonzales or Soledad to take a potty break and eat some ice cream or fries. Also, we ran our dog around a local park so that he could stretch his legs.

Recruit Jordyn Amoy, setter, 5'11, freshman-to-be at CAL POLY (officially on the 2019 Roster) talks about herself and the reasons she chose this university to pursue her education in aerospace engineering/play college VB.

Jordyn was the first,...three more recruits are expected to be added to coach Walters' WVB roster as they clear the CAL POLY's admissions process for incoming freshman.
