I've been trying to find a player comparison in years past for Zaun and I really can't. He is an incredibly lethal sideout player on the left side that terminates the ball at will in transition, but is not a great defensive player at all and could not play right side to save his life. All of his strengths on the left side are completely nullified when he moves to the right side. His quirkiness also doesn't help him. He may have to wait a few more years during the transition of the older players out of the game. Adam Jewel?

Confirmed on today’s Sandcast— Chaim and Casebeer indeed. Who was the guest on the episode?

Confirmed on today’s Sandcast— Chaim and Casebeer indeed. So what this says is Jeremy saw enough of Eric to want out weeks after they teamed up. Another partner who dumped Eric on the quick.

Piotr not mentally weak, lol.. Look at the 2, we see the obvious.. Just get the job done from either side (in transition), all problems go away.. No, Piotr has a mental glass gina. I have followed his playing long before he xame back to the AVP.

Zaun and Skylar Delsol seem weirdly similar. Both hit the hell out of their serve, are good offensively, average defensively, and are hotheads that aren't universally liked.

Confirmed on today’s Sandcast— Chaim and Casebeer indeed. Who was the guest on the episode? No guest today. Doha recap, talking about which AVP stops Tri will go to and then a little bit about partner changes. Hermosa will be a watered down field. Top 4 teams are mandated to go to Tokyo for the test event. Manhattan Beach conflicts with Moscow. Tri is down to not going if all top teams agree not to go.

Skylar may end up with back with Piotr considering they are both California castaways, but I still think there are players with more points than skylar available. They are solid when they play together though. They uave beat Kolinske and Evans a couple tines the last couple years in offshoot tourbaments. Skylar likes too much to be the big fish ina small pond in Colorado than trying to further his career. I have tried to follow him positicely because I like his game but he seems to only like beating up on locals in Denver and it doesnt make him a better player. You could see that when he folded with Trevor.

Pretty sad, I hope he has a regular job that keeps him there because he's totally wasting whatever potential he has. Good call on Eric/Skylar comparison especially their temperaments.

Zaun is basically waiting on other teams to fail. But he could be a little more proactive now that he got dumped. Maybe court Field or Lee or someone and try to break up an extant partnership. Best case for him, and not unlikely is he picks up Trevor if that team fails but that's months away and only a possibility anyway.
His problem is he plows through these guys so players like Slick or Jeremy who have had a taste of playing with him may not be as enthusiastic a out trying again.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is Eric's last year as a full time guy if he can't get and keep a Slick/Budinger level partner.

And this can't be his last full-time season as he's all in, living in a van all-in. Can't imagine what he'd do outside of volleyball, he's fully committed to this but again, he's up the creek without a partner. Would've never guessed this is where he'd be two years ago but Eric's mercurial on-court temperament got him here. Again, we forget how quickly Timmy B dumped him and that's a guy who by all accounts is as easy going as it gets.

Yea I really like Tri and Trevor. I think outside of Phil they have an Internstional style that can compete but well find out this year.
This could be a very interesting AVP season with Olympic qualifying dipping into sone tournaments and also the expanded field.
