Heard from Troy that he'll be partnering with Bombgren now, tough break for Loomis. Very interesting team. Especially if they split block. Tim is light years better at defense than Troy. I hope Timmy plays there fulltime. But he's probably a better blocker, too

If Bomgren had an offer with Rosie but turned him down to play with Fields, I wouldn't be expecting them to split block. Also, Fields is a horrendous defender I wouldn't see that working at all.

Field/Timmy will be tough to beat as there's no weak link, pick your poison on who to serve. Troy likely get majority early but Tim sets butter.

Confirmed on today’s Sandcast— Chaim and Casebeer indeed. Really happy for Chaim. He hasn't had a steady partner to train with since making the federation change. He can also get back to his natural right side.

Zaun and Travis a possibility?

Zaun and Travis a possibility? Was thinking that might be an option, while I like Travis' game, that's a big dropoff from where Zaun wanted to be, in contention for an Olympic spot. Dude's gotta be seriously down with how this has all unfolded for him. I think many of us (including me) bought far too much Zaun stock and are now left hoping it rebounds somewhere near where we bought it.

I've been trying to find a player comparison in years past for Zaun and I really can't. He is an incredibly lethal sideout player on the left side that terminates the ball at will in transition, but is not a great defensive player at all and could not play right side to save his life. All of his strengths on the left side are completely nullified when he moves to the right side. His quirkiness also doesn't help him. He may have to wait a few more years during the transition of the older players out of the game.

He doesn't seem to be like some of the other guys that get family support or have lucrative coaching gigs to fall back on If he has to play the year with someone like Duncan or Bruno, he may be stealing food from the players tent just to eat during the week.

He can't really wait but he doesn't have any options right now. Him leaving Ratledge has turned out to be his biggest mistake, but at the same time you can't blame him for looking forward to someone who may have been a better an more permanent option at the time. But that has completely backfired in his face.
I hope he can take the best available player, say F it I'm going to continue to improve like I have been, and carry the player to better and better finishes.
I will be curious to see what Piotr does. He may have some leverage with Zaun if he wants to put up with him, but Piotr comes across as incredibly fragile mentally.

This is all very spot on, don't blame him at all for looking for younger player to grow with but none of them worked out or they moved on very quickly from Eric. That's a terrible sign when players dump him after limited time in partnership; Slick, Timmy, Jeremy, likely Piotr no go after last year's meltdown. He pretty much has to try to get Webber or that Penn State kid but they are probably like no thank you seeing all Eric's partners get their distance from him quickly.

Piotr not mentally weak, lol.. Look at the 2, we see the obvious.. Just get the job done from either side (in transition), all problems go away..

a long season... Some teams not getting results already Injuries could happen Things will change.
Zaun doesn't need to push FIVB this year.
BTW, its a shame NORCECA doesn't host two or three 3 stars and below tournaments a year. Big travels to play in all these 1 and 2 stars.

And those plans are presently in tatters.
