Well both sides of PA. should be happy. In both the 3A and 2A brackets you have the best two teams from the east on the top half. And on the bottom brackets the best two teams from the west battling for a spot in the state championship. Shaping up to be a great final week of the season. I hope the Suburban vs. Mannheim and Northeastern vs. Central York match-ups are at the same gym. That place will be rocking.I vote for the Giant Center at Hershey, like they do for the basketball championships.

I was in the house for two matches at Red Lion on Tuesday. Absolutely electric atmosphere, especially brought from York Suburban parents and fans. Really high level ball in the 3A semi-final, especially for two teams who had seen each other 5+ times throughout the year. Excited for both finals this Saturday

I couldn't make the finals, but watched the replays on PCN. Not the same as being there. Congrats to North Allegheny and Meadville! Nice to see one new face:)

Alright. With March 2nd around the corner, let's get this party started. The West has got all the hardware from last year. How about some early chatter on the 2020 season. Who are the favorites and who do you think will take home the trophy in June?

It's the most wonderful time of the year!!!!
I think as we move into the beginning of the season, a few teams stand out. I think Northeastern will be a very powerful team in AAA this year. They return their entire State Semifinalist team from last year minus their D1 middle that graduated. There may be a good replacement for that player on deck. The Junior class on this team is very good and 2 of the returning seniors have already committed to play in college, one at Ohio State and one at Springfield. Exeter also looks to be returning almost their entire team from last year and will no doubt be very competitive and they have several players that will play in college. Hempfield should be very good also and, of course, North Allegheny is always good (even though they graduated many of their starters from last year's State Champion team). Central York also graduated most of their starters, so the jury is still out on how they will gel as a team this season, but as always, they will be very solid. AA appears to be wide open as most of the top teams from 2019 graduated many of their top players including State Champion Meadeville, York Suburban, Ambridge and Manheim Central. Who will rise to the occasion?

A couple teams that may be very relevant this year (one from the West and one from the East): Seneca Valley from the Pittsburg area and Central Dauphin from the Harrisburg area. Both teams should be solid and both team's players has significant club play in the off season.

As it looks right now there might not be a boy's volleyball season in Western PA.
About half of the schools have already announced shut downs and have suspended practice and play for all sports teams for varying lengths of time.
Big meetings on Monday to decide what will happen next.
Best case scenario is that we get to play an abbreviated season, worst case is no season at all.
