Finals results 16’s - Coqui over SPVB (17-25, 25-17, 25-10) 17’s - 352 over Future (23-25, 25-17, 15-12) 18’s - MVC over Future (25-27, 25-9, 15-12) Why didn’t they use 1 set playoffs for advancement ties? I thought USAV makes them mandatory in bid tournaments. That changed this year - 1 set playoffs are only used if it directly leads to a bid round. That is, there've been no one set tie-breakers in Round 1, but they have been happening in Round 2 (but I'm not sure where you're seeing it at LaFata, so....

My understanding is USAV has eliminated all one set tie-breakers for boys and girls, unless two teams are tied in W-L & set % for staying in Gold. First tie-breaker is set %, then head to head for 2 remaining teams.
My team (I’m a VAC) finished in a day 2 pool in a three way tie at 2-1 and got sent out of Gold to Silver in 18 Open, but won it and got our bid for Reno, so all is well. 😀

I hate that tiebreaker sets were taken away.

As for the no playoffs anymore for ties you can thank someone in Texas for that. It's about the bottom dollar to them not the sport.
When the vote was done by the qualifier owners almost all of them voted to keep the playoff and "they" went against it
Have your commissioners bring it up in the national meetings they run in May.

After watching endless 16s matches in St Louis, I have to list SPVB, 352, K2C2, and COQUI as the 4 teams ahead of the pack and teams to watch in Reno. Cinn Attack and D1 were teams that have shown improvement and they are starting to hang with national level teams.
In 14s, The HBC and Rockstar teams showed potential to compete, but K2C2 blew out the field and never came close to losing a game.
Congrats to HVA for defeating 352 in 17s on Day1, as 352 has shown they are THE team as triple BID 17s Open Champions.

Props to 352 Elite 17’s for winning 3 National Qualifiers in a row ! That team will likely have 5 commits to D1 programs by end of July. Crazy.
