What is the sernario for Kerri & Brooke to play the Canadians? Canadians win their first match against Josi/Juliana and KWJ/BS wins against Russia. Then they’ll play each other to top the pool. Funny how Josi/Juliana also had to qualify and this is what Juliana said “It felt like I just took some time off and now returned home,” she commented. “It was funny that when I was leaving the court Kerri (Walsh Jennings) was coming in to play too and I thought that we used to share the courts in the World Championships gold medal match and now here we are, in the qualifier. But it’s how it works, we both love playing and we’ll keep doing it for as long as we can.” There has always been so much respect between these two women. Juliana has always been a great player. She just was another unfortunate lady that played her prime one the May/Walsh era. If you ask her her biggest career moment she would have to say coming from behind in the 3rd set of the 2011 World Champs Final to take the gold from May & Walsh. I think losing that match is what propelled Misty & Kerri to Olympic Gold in 2012. Heartbreaker for sure.

Bad week for the NCAA women so far. Sponcil/Claes get murdered and Graudina lucky to get to 10 in game 1.
Stockman/Larsen are such a fun team. The improvement both have shown is incredible and I admire the self-belief it took both to keep grinding in the wake of some awful results. (Stockman/Dicello was a particularly ugly team to watch sometimes) Its a shame the Olympics keep teams together so long because I think Larsen particularly could make even more noise with one of the Saras or April (not that either should switch but in a different regime she would probably get a chance with one eventually)

Sponcil/Claes got murdered 😂😂😂 Sara won the first match though. And the McNamaras seems to be doing well against Keizer/Meppelink.

I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but we were robbed of seeing the clear best two teams facing off for Gold in London after they forced Juliana/Larissa to play in that torrential downpour semifinal against Jen/April. Might have been the greatest women’s matchup ever in the Olympic era.

Yes, it is fair to say Jen and April overachieved in London, but lets not forget, part of beach volleyball is dealing with the elements. All respect to Juliana and Larissa, but all the players dealt with the same rain during the semifinals. I had been following Jen and April since the won coming out of the qualifiers, and they prepared extremely well for London. They played in the test event and arrived early and acclimated to the venue and city.

Anyone watching the USA vs Canada match right now? I saw Canada had a very early lead but now USA up 17-16. What’s changed?

Anyone watching the USA vs Canada match right now? I saw Canada had a very early lead but now USA up 17-16. What’s changed? 12-9 at the technical. Canadá making lots of errors and just generally sloppy in transition. Kerri having some passing woes but they’re making up for it with stellar defense and pulling.

More updates I'm stuck in an awful meeting 21-14. The Americans closed on a 15-6 run. Sweat had a ton of digs and would convert them all, whereas MHP got a bunch of digs but her or Sarah would hit it out. Poor setting from MHP as well. Kerri was getting half the serves but I’d imagine efficiency wise her and Sweat were about similar.
