Oh boy so the veterans should be in the team because they have the experience? I do think that some players like Lowe and Foluke need to show to be the best players with their performances because I'm not sure they are anymore... Many teams used this tournament to test young players, see Italy with Elena Pietrini, who was the second best spiker of the preliminary round, Mazzanti will bring her in Tokyo despite her inexperience

Can we please bring back the posters who actually provided thoughtfulness and insight to the board? Y'all don't think that Karch may be giving an opportunity for younger players to develop this tournament (like SO MANY OF YOU BEMOAN)? You also don't think that some of the more Veteran players may have had commitments? From their social media accounts I'm guessing that Hill, Lowe, and Akinradewo had major personal events happen/happening that may inhibit their abilities to be on these rosters. THEY ARE REAL PEOPLE TOO. Expect the Veteran players to be on the World Cup and Olympic rosters. If I'm Karch and I want to win GOLD I am not going to take a player that has shown promise during one of the weakest tournaments of the year (with European teams sending B/C teams). I am taking my players who I know can deliver and have been in that environment before. I fully anticipate Akinradewo, Lowe, Lloyd, and Hill to be on every roster going forward. Yes let’s continue to bring the same veteran players and expect different results from the past. Please let us know how veteran players ie Lloyd and Lowe have delivered in the past and why they ‘deserve’ to be A team.

Gotta hand it to Karch for cutting Lloyd. I can imagine that was the toughest decision to make. I’m actually shocked she isn’t there. I think we will see Hancock at some point during the remainder of this season. I am just really glad Poulter is on this roster.

Foluke and Hill clearly are taking a break. Lloyd and Lowe were clearly both available, and neither distinguished themselves vis a vis the newbies. I wouldn't conclude that they are being cut or out of the picture, but they certainly didn't help themselves. Lowe’s brother is getting married this weekend, so I imagine she wouldn’t want to miss that

In 2015 they had a new setter starting while Glass was just a backup.
Glass started in 2016 while the other setter vanished.
I can see something similar happening here.

I’m just happy Karch has tried new players and it worked. He needs to ready more volleytalk clearly. Now what ogbogu wo should start with Akinradewo. An Washington and rettke who are much better backups than Dixon.

But the other setter ( Molly ?) was playing really well, I could be wrong but I think she won best setter award at 2015 Grand Prix. But in the World Cup when other teams were playing their best is when she started to fall apart and turned into a like M.B.H winning MVP at VNL and no show at the WCH. Let's not forget USA won Gold last year with Lloyd setting, Dixon best Middle and M.B.H MVP....but then at the WCH when other teams were playing their best we all saw these awards meant nothing. China is sending a B-C team to the finals. The Italians were all enjoying a mini vacation until this week. Expect either USA or Brazil to win this tournament again....as usual.

Glass was injuried during the WGP and Molly did a terrific job and got the best setter award. BUT Glass came back for World Cup and played as starter setter, Molly was back up.(http://worldcup.2015.women.fivb.com/en/schedule#/d20150906 )
China with the B-C team, Italy and Turkey were on the holiday till 3 days ago...Probably USA will take another gold

Glass came back for the World Cup in 2015 and I remember she had connection problems with all the hitters. It was somehow understandable because she was out for an injury , but Kreklow should've played more.
I've also seen in social media that American and Polish players got some time off, I think it was the same for every team, and it is completely understandable due to the lenght of the tournament. Italy is the favourite team, they want the gold and I think they will get it. Brazil was average so far IMO, they used to win WGP with their best generation, but now this generation isn't exactly the same

Europeans are used to taking holiday. It won't affect their performance negatively one bit.

Also Turkey has been playing always with the same players in the last 2 years and most of them played together in the same club team. This is probably Guidetti's choice, but I don't think that some days off will affect their game so much. Some turkish players are also improved a lot compared to last year
