Tri IMHO is just really good all around player on the FIVB. He's really really good at every skill, comparatively, to everyone else. Doesn't matter 8f it's blocking, or defense. Wish we had more like him, and I do think Trevors blocking has improved on the FIVB level, and I'm really hoping this team can keep moving forward. Wtf is Crabb Gibb thinking not playing these. Bad decision imho. They got a lousy draw here definitely. Bad matchup and a great team. If they can get a game it would mean a lot to them mentally going forward I think I was wondering though, other than Phil, who would be a better partner for Tri than Trevor.

Trevor making his case for elite blocker status in this game. US close to having in in the bag

Tri needs to trust Trevor and set him closer. He is putting him 6 or 7 feet off and looking to poach and two ball too much too early

Although it could be as simple as needing a break after Austin as well.

It'll come down to Gibb/Crabb and 2T. Gibb is going to play it smart and not over extend himself by playing more than he needs to.

Taylor is the one getting hosed, he should be playing every opportunity he has to face international competition. Instead he's at home while his 40 something partner heals up.

Even worse is that his weaker-playing brother is on the verge of taking away his Olympic spot. I wonder if Taylor is better in all contexts or is just better in the AVP context. Tomorrow Trevor can surpass Taylor's best ever FIVB performance if he wins the bronze medal match and I think if you replaced Trevor with Taylor the Bourne/Crabb team is worse, given weaker sideout play in some matches plus the diminished effect of Tri's serving if he has to run to the net. On the AVP with fewer monsters at the net, Taylor is definitely better and Trevor would be worse with a lot of partners or if forced to block or play D exclusively, but other than Taylor/Phil, I am not sure there is a team Taylor can form that would be substantially better than Bourne/Crabb
