Based on Bulgaria's roster for the VNL, Rado is the only player enrolled at an American university and may possibly be the only one not playing for a pro club. He's also among the youngest, so unless there are some veterans with gimpy knees and arthritic elbows, his chances are very slim. www.volleyball.world/en/vnl/men/teams/bul%20bulgaria/team_roster

What happens to his education? 1. He could get a degree for super cheap in Europe anytime he wants. 2. His salary for one year professionally in Europe would most likely be a lot higher than tuition at Hawaii so future degree would end up being even cheaper. 3. It's Hawaii, it's a decent school but not a Stanford or top UC school where argument could be made that staying for the education would be worth it. I think he should stay, he has a decent chance at winning a title while living in Hawaii and getting a degree. But financially and maybe career wise, going pro is smarter. Anyone trying to say they know what he should do is wrong because you're not in his shoes and are not HIM so how can you know what's best for HIM. He's shown nothing that makes me think he will leave but I can't fault him if he does. The info you gave, I think in my opinion, He should go Pro.But I am for him to get an education

If he stays he is going adjust with playing with a new setter and with Stijn Van Tilburg gone, teams will probably put more focus on him on defense.
If he is good enough to make the national team and a pro team, he will be playing with and against a higher level of competition and that is probably the best way to improve his game the quickest way. If it were me and I thought I had a realistic shot to make the 2020 Olympic team, it would be hard to turn the opportunity down and I would go pro and try to develop my game the fastest way possible. If I didn't think it was realistic to make the 2020 team, I would stay and try to win a national championship.

I like our chances of winning a NC if 4 things happen: 1. Humler fully recovers. 2. Humler serve receive and passing game is at D1 level. As he is listed at both pin positions, let’s hope that’s the case. 3. Thelle is able to run an efficient offense. 4. We stay healthy.
Santos looks like the real deal at MH. Humler’s hitting and serving should be more than good enough based on what he showed us this season.

well there is one thing set in stone...
rado wont be having the whole summer at "worsley camp"
he will be getting sub par coaching at the bulgarian national team level while potentially playing across olympic caliber players every day in practice

As much as I appreciate the "Worsley Camp" and our own coaching staff, this is really valuable experience for Rado. With that said, I think a lot of this arguing about the coaching on the Bulgarian national team came up because a lot of Hawaii fans are worried about the idea of Rado leaving the program early based on rumors that you have started up with no basis other than the fact that Rado and this Hawaii team had a great season. If Rado leaves, then that's his choice, and he needs to do what's best for him. But based on what I've gathered and heard, I doubt that Rado will choose to leave early, and if he values his education, he will stick it out for one more year. If he leaves, then Dimi will play at OPP and Filip will play at OH, and with the losses that some other teams will experience, Hawaii will still be in the mix for the NC, and these two players will gain valuable experience that will help Hawaii stay in contention for the NC for years to come.

Isn't Dimi's natural position at OPP while Humler is listed as an OH/OPP? There's not a whole lot of game footage on Dimi so his passing and defensive skills is a mystery. When he did play, Humler looked fairly decent at OPP and behind the service line. I hope his hand mends quickly so that he can compete hard for Stijn's vacant OH position. Not a whole lot of clips on Santos, how does his game compare with Dalton's? Is he a better blocker? Dimi plays opposite for Greece out of neccessity. They have smaller lefts that can pass already so they stick Dimi on the right. The matches I have watched of him play , he gets half of his kills from the left side and seems like a natural hitter from each side. He has high volleyball iq and does not just hit for power on every set, he dinks and has all the shots. I think he will eventually be as good a passer as SVT so the left might be where he stays.

im gonna start a thread saying rado is leaving just to piss off the UH diehards hahahah If you want to troll go ahead. Yeah, I'm just screwing with Volleyballbro, because he started screwing with us "UH diehards" on the possibility that Rado will leave. I think he wants Rado to leave so that the team that he backs has a fleeting chance on beating us next year. Won't happen, we got too much depth at the pins.

Was mentioned by someone earlier in the thread that a local libero is coming in next season. Saw that Shea Suzumoto had committed recently.
He is the libero for Punahou and has been playing volleyball for what seems like forever. Started playing when he was around six, played up around four age groups when he was young, older brother played at Hope International, was the varsity manager as an eight grader because Rick Tune saw the potential in him. Played mostly at Outrigger and various clubs before that.

Suzumoto has nice potential, this allows Sheward to set and be a serving sub. Next years freshman class (including redshirts) is shaping up to be the best ever, especially if they get who they are going after currently.
