Billy K and Miles won the AVP Next in Huntington today. C'mon 405, we need better information from you, just when I thought you were "in" the loop and "in" the beach scene you go and post something like the above. Also, Seaside, Pottstown etc are affiliates. An AVP affiliated tournament only gives points, it's not owned by the AVP. I'm sure most if not all tournament directors from the respected list you mentioned will let Billy K play. Seesh, get it together bruh. So Mr. Big Time Paul, why is Billy not listed for Austin when they paid to enter? That's the crux of this if you can't understand big picture talk I get it. Patience 405, Sun will make an example out of Billy K like he did with Brooke S. I wonder if Donald/AVP will write what Billy has to publicly say or post like he did for Brooke S.

And work on that star rating while you're at it. Will do Captain... I was up to 2 stars but then the offseason happened and not much to post about. When I logged back in I was demoted to a 1 star

So now that its time to argue you didnt enjoy the event anymore? Perfect. Yet another example of you taking selective facts out of context to make your constantly idiotic points. The only problem is that you failed to copy this from my Las Vegas posts: "The bad. Like 405LAX said (didn't now you were here!), the crowds were pretty minimal. When you take out volunteers, friends and family, and other folks somehow affiliated with the FIVB, p1440 or MGM Grand, I would be surprised if there were more than a few hundred spectators in attendance. Guess maybe you can't do a late addition the the FIVB calendar in a non-traditional volleyball locale and expect it to be a rousing success? Maybe Saturday and Sunday will bring the crowds and see way more people drive over from Cali, but I guess we will see. Watching Kerri, during their post-match recap on an outer picnic bench following their loss to Day/Flint, was a classic. Throwing cups around, and man, was she animated and pissed. Can't blame her, especially since they played much better today than yesterday in taking it to 3 games, but I would not have wanted to be Brooke or the guy (their coach?) at that table. And why in the h-e-double hockey sticks can't FIVB coaches actually coach during the match. Seriously, this has to be one of the dumbest things ever. They sit in the stands with their notepads, useless to their players at the time when they are most needed. C'mon, FIVB, wake the hell up? Jose Loiala chatting us up, and expressing how bad the FIVB handset "rules" are implemented from court to court. Some no calls that were worse than us in our backyard sand court, and then the few double contact calls at the absolute worse time during the match. And lastly, the concrete sand. They laugh at me because, when we built our court, I could not really afford the nice, deep beach sand that they sometimes truck down from Lake Michigan. But this stuff is as bad as the cheaper stuff we ended up getting - you can tell that it is likely the pulverized concrete/block sand by seeing the little pebbly stuff in it and seeing how hard it sets up during the day, even without any moisture applied to it. It was really hard not to laugh when they start working it up with rototillers in an attempt to soften it up a bit, because that is exactly what we do before we play back home (except we call it "running the Zamboni"). Finally, the really ugly. We love night play more than anyone, and even rigged up 4 poles with 500 watt halogens so that we can play after dark in Indiana. But the lighting was apparently so bad that one of the 3 night court matches gets cancelled (Menegatti's match), while the other two get played. Seriously, if I am Ross/Hughes or the Japanese, I am calling a huge foul, and asking to replay my match during the day, just like the 6 other unplayed matches scheduled for last night but rescheduled for Saturday morning get to do. The lighting was almost exactly the same, amd maybe even a bit worse, than the lighting was on the cancelled court, so to not call off all 3 matches, and play them Saturday morning, especially when the 9-11 am time slot was wide open anyway, is just plain wrong. I don't know if we have ever felt so strongly about something being so patently unfair as what happened last night. 'Nuff said."

So does anyone have the story? Played in AVPA tourney Saturday but not main tour? Betting it's one or two tournaments, not all season.

In summary: Poor attendance FIVB rules Bad sand - Others have said the sand was fine. In Austin they played on waterlogged courts, was it worse than that? Light issues - Affected two matches. Is that an accurate summary? So did you enjoy the event and have a good time or not? Since you have said on multiple occasions you did, it would be hard to retract now, but if you care to then feel free.

We know this to be fact, AVP actually authored the statement or gave "suggested" references to cover? Does anyone have a copy of it? And certainly would be interesting if his return was pending an approved statement.

On the other hand if he spent those 26 days (+ 2 for qualis) working at Dairy Queen he would probably make almost the same amount and get a nice start on a real career. If Donald wants to hold a grudge more power to him, I probably would, but the tour would be better with Billy on it

AVP doesn’t need anyone that disagrees with them!!

Yes, Billy seems to have a stable career still being involved in education and what will be his foreseeable future probably paired up with continuing to teach the game of volleyball as well. However, if Billy really is set on making the Olympics, then his life is certainly beach volleyball from now until then and he definitely needs the AVP more than they need him. www.manhattan-tutoring.com/
