Still not sure I understand. If Houston wins and Tulane wins they will have the same conference record. Then it goes to head to head which they split. Then it goes to RPI and Tulane wins that. Tulane beating Cinci really helped that. It was Cinci’s only loss in conference. Either way the West has really been a slug fest with all 3 teams tied with 1 game left. Sunday will determine the winner.

Sunday will determine the winner. You are skipping a tie-breaker step. After 1) conference record, there is 2) intra-division record, and then 3) head-to-head. Houston would have the better intra-West record.

Does anyone know what's going on in the Tulane-Memphis match right now?
I saw a replay signaled, but now the R1 has gone down to the scorers table and both refs keep going back and forth with the coaches.
Edit: Eventually the call was reversed. Interesting. Back to action.
Wow. Memphis pulls off the sweep!

Where are they hiding the bracket? I'm pretty sure it's #1 Cincinnati vs. (Winner of #4 Tulane vs. #5 Houston) #2 SMU vs. (Winner of #3 UCF vs. #6 Tulsa) Tournament will be played at UCF.

I think it is #4 Houston and #5 Tulane because of a better intra-West record (7-3 v 6-4), but it is all the same except for who wears the home jersey when they meet.

Semifinals are set. 100pm ET SMU at UCF 330pm ET Tulane vs. Cincinnati
SMU is fighting for an at-large bid, while Cincinnati and UCF are locks. Tulane is the only team in the conference to beat Cincinnati, but lost too many games they shouldn't have, so will, in most all scenarios not be an at-large contender. Cincinnati still has a hope to become a T16 seed if they win the conference.
The Tulane/Cincinnati matchup is very interesting. Tulane can put up the best block in the conference (probably a tie with UCF) and they can really slow down other teams offensively. They are, as mentioned previously, completely erratic. UCF is actually a similar-style team to Tulane, but more disciplined and they execute their 6-2 system more effectively.
I think SMU actually plays the "cleanest" volleyball of anyone in the AAC. They don't make as many mistakes have great ball control. Maybe not as physical - but they're a consistent team.
Should be an fun day!.
