Is PSU really a top 5 team this year ?? My answer: no They were a very very good team at end of last year Gave Minnesota their only Loss Lost to Wisonsin in 5 Swept Washington in NCAA Won 1st set off Stanford and were up 18-11 or so in 2nd set They may have the best libero and ds combo in country 2 stud Middles who will be Sophomores Stud sophomore opposite they could move to left side Won’t be surprised if they win big ten

Am I missing something? What’s with the penn state love ? Parker, Hord, Gray, White, Blossom (a setter that some fans thought should’ve played more), and of course Russ Rose. I think they’ll get a lot better throughout the season than what I put them out to start.

Passing may be a bit iffy IMO, although they did do well with Leath back there. They will be competing against Wisconsin who seems like the favorite (to me at least), Minnesota who has solid returners, Nebraska who will do some reloading but will likely be a top team, Illinois being stacked on the pins, etc. I definitely feel like PSU last year benefited from the seniors and the new starters will have to adjust quickly

Penn state was #9 in Pablo last year. They had only 2 seniors on their entire roster. They have as much talent on the team as anyone outside of Stanford. They are clearly in the mix of NC contenders for this season and Big Ten title.

They are clearly in the mix of NC contenders for this season and Big Ten title. They lost three starters- Brianna Weiskercher, Taylor Leath, and Nia Reed. I agree that they will be in the mix because of the other strong returners but there will be some early season growing pains with a new setter, pins, and potentially Jonni Parker playing in a new position.

Surprised people have been putting FSU in the top 20. I often feel they underperform for the hype they get. Based on the recruiting at TCU, I'd put them about FSU.

Your right - Taylor Leath was a Graduate Student. I wish PSU would update with a useable 2019 roster.

Yeah, last I looked it only showed Holcomb on the roster with a bunch of newcomers. why did Holcomb not play last season but is returning now? I'm not sure if she redshirted last year, but I would've thought she'd still be listed on the roster last season if that was the case. Did she just take a year off? Not really sure

Why is anyone putting Florida ahead of Kentucky, let alone in their top 6? Do we really think Florida has all of the answers for their 2018 issues?

You can put anyone in the top 20, at this point. It doesn't really matter.

Pre-injury Hall was hitting .154 in the SEC and .190 overall. Hall is a stud and has major potential to be a First Team AA as a Gator, but Florida's issues weren't an injured Hall last year. It was setting, passing and the system they were running (sending everything in-system to the middle or RS). Not saying they won't be better, but I don't think a "healthy Hall" beats out Edmond/Lilley/Stumler/Cooper/Skinner/Curry/Meyer, etc.

Feel like quite a few are sleeping on Wisconsin. or maybe I'm not looking hard enough Tbh, put the best passing lineup in and let Rettke carry 🤣 And the other half of the match when she's on the bench?
