Preseason poll is not far away. If you are part of the polling bunch, who do write down?
Stanford Nebraska Minnesota BYU Wisconsin Kentucky Illinois Texas Penn State Florida USC Pitt Purdue Marquette Louisville Oregon Baylor Michigan Florida State Washington
How far off is this list? Who needs to be included? I did not look at last year’s final ranking. Not a fan of simulating 2018’s results.

Oregon is in the T20 or possibly in the top 10. Washington is ahead of Hawaii, Michigan, Florida State, and Louisville and possibly a couple others.

Maybe I should have looked at last year🤔. Not sold on Louisville, cards lost two most valuable players.

Maybe I should have looked at last year🤔. Not sold on Louisville, cards lost two most valuable players. Have to look at it nonlinearly and not as positional addition/subtraction. Louisville's portfolio of players is better this coming year compared to last year. The only issue is timing/development. Young team, but definitely talented. I'd argue that no other team did a better job in upgrading their overall talent level than Louisville.

Definitely nudge Washington higher. BYU might also be lower depending on how the pollsters view the really good players they have to replace.

Louisville, Cal Poly, Baylor, Marquette, Michigan, Purdue Just missing: Florida St, Tennessee, San Diego This looks pretty good to me. I kind of think 2-14 is pretty similar and then 15 - ~ 35 (or more) is pretty similar. Right now, I think there is a pretty clear top 14 (or 13 depending on how to handle Pittsburgh).

I do like Tennessee in the top 20. Good pickup and up and coming young coach

I’m not a homer but I definitely think that Hawaii will surprise people this year. Jolie alone made this team good, but with the additional transfers, I think we can make some noise this year

I'm surprised Washington is coming in so low. They have the same team that went sweet 16 last year, a team that lost to PSU in tough sets, a PSU team that is down a couple key pins from a year ago. Besides having the experience of a year of playing together they should also have better defensive substitutions.

Many VT posters will soon grow to regret their decision to shoehorn the Wolverines into their preseason top 20.
