Northern Illinois is 3-11 after a loss at Bradley. At least they won some non conference matches, unlike last season. I am hoping to make it to DeKalb for a MAC match at some point this season.

Michigan MAC Update - Conference Openers:
Central Michigan looks like a completely different team this year featuring a balanced offensive attack and a hustling defense that has them on a 7 game win streak and a 12-2 start to the season. Junior transfer Lisbeth Rosario-Martinez has been a nice addition to the middle complementing Megan Sivertsen on defense and Kalina Smith has been going off from the outside. Road wins at NIU (with Chance the Rapper in attendance) and at rival WMU mark a great start to the conference campaign.
Western Michigan hosted both of their instate rivals over the weekend, sweeping EMU and getting swept by CMU. Highlight of the weekend was senior libero Kathleen Reilly notching her 2,000th career dig.
It was a tough start for the defending MAC tournament champion EMU Eagles as they dropped both road matches to WMU and NIU. Cassie Haut led the offense tallying 26 total kills in the two matches.
Upcoming schedules: CMU goes on the road again at EMU on Thursday before hosting Kent State on Saturday EMU hosts CMU on Thursday and Ohio on Saturday WMU plays at Toledo on Friday and Ball State on Saturday

All of a sudden the Zips are a force to be reckoned with, sweeping Miami and Bowling Green en route to a 4-0 start in Mac play.
Miami and Bowling Green each supplemented their Zip loss with a win over Buffalo.
Ohio U was able to muster a win vs Kent before falling to the EMUs.
Neither Kent nor Toledo were able to win a game this weekend.

Michigan MAC update - Conference Week 2:
Everything is upside down in the MAC this year. Central Michigan barely managed to squeeze out 4 conference wins last year; this season they find themselves 4-0 and atop the MAC West after ruining EMU's banner raising ceremony on Thursday night and downing Kent State at home on Saturday. Fire Up Chips!
Western Michigan split their road matches this weekend, sweeping Toledo before dropping a 4 setter to Ball State.
After getting beat by CMU on Thursday, the EMU Eagles turned to their pink jerseys for inspiration and it helped them to their first MAC win of the season, beating Ohio in 4.
