Italy with a record breaking 793 deaths in the last 24 hours. April 3rd? Maybe June 3rd... Anyways, here’s an article about Kim Hill if no one has posted yet. pamplinmedia.com/pt/12-sports/457612-373092-volleyball-star-kim-hill-on-hold-in-italy?wallit_nosession=1Will this be Hill's final season playing professionally? "I'm thinking so," said Hill, 30. "For sure, I'll be done with the national team after the Olympics, and likely done playing overseas. I'm not totally closing the door. I want to keep my options open, but I haven't signed a contract for next season. I'm going to take some rest and reevaluate." So what to do after volleyball? "Isn't that the million-dollar question," she said with a laugh. "I have no idea, really. I'm assuming it will be a lot of trial and error with different careers or jobs, seeing what I like. I'm open to anything. I'm hoping something comes along, some good opportunity." IS BEACH VOLLEYBALL CALLING FOR HER?

What's scary is that Italy has been in quarantine for almost two weeks and the new infection rate and death rate are skyrocketing. The infection rate has started exploding here in America already. In another week we will start to see the healthcare system over run. We stand upon the brink of the worst of this. I really hope it has somewhat run it's course by May. This is all so surreal. I am glad most of our girls are finding their way back home.

Speaking of Hill, the Cuore Project did a feature on Hill last week about her life playing in Italy and the challenges she faced:

I like her bubbly and positive attitude on the court.

MBH is on her way home. Gibbemeyer is staying in Turkey to "uphold her contract." Not sure about JT or anyone else I've missed.

I guess all that time Imoco spent practicing while everyone else was quarantining paid off.

I saw Mitchem was still in Italy on Instagram as of last week. It could have been an old photo but I think she's still there.

Well there you have it. 6 Italian teams will participate in the 2020/2021 European Cups:
CEV Champions League: Conegliano Busto Arsizio Novara
CEV Cup: Scandicci
CEV Challenge Cup: Monza (Main Draw) Casalmaggiore (1st Round Entry)

I don't have a problem with them canceling relegations. But if I understood the article correctly....they are still allowing the top two teams from Serie A2 their promotions. That means Serie A1 will have whopping 16 teams in the league next year which in an Olympic year will be very strenuous on the athletes. That's 30 matches of domestic play and 6-12 CEV matches for the top teams. Yikes. That's a lot of volleyball. I wonder where everyone will land after transfers all happen.

Did Hill or Ogbogu ever publicly apologize (on social media or wherever) for their participation in that photograph now that their country leads the world in total infections and will soon lead in total deaths?
