Cal wins 16-14 in 5th set.
Colorado did SOOOO much better! If they keep that line-up and play like that, they will win a lot of PAC matches in the 2nd half of PAC. Colorado looked like a Top 25 team. Very disappointing that CU lost another one when they commanded the match most of the time.
Both teams hit over .300 the entire match. Over 75 digs from both teams.
High quality match. The Buffs deserved that win. Good job by Cal for hanging in there and coming back when it mattered most.

I have no idea what the back row attack was on Colorado on a crucial point. Can ANYONE tell me?

Why did Colorado lose the point that should have put them up 13-9? How can they call a back row attack on a player that bumped the ball over the net?

Why did Colorado lose the point that should have put them up 13-9? How can they call a back row attack on a player that bumped the ball over the net? I didn't see it. But perhaps the call was actually earlier in the rally? Sometimes these seemingly mysterious challenges are for earlier in the rally.

But perhaps the call was actually earlier in the rally? I watched the entire rally a few times. I think they called Jenna back row on her dump attempt but she was in the front row. No player took a swing from the back row.

14-13 Cal. Match point Cal. The Colorado kill might have caught back line, but Colorado didn't challenge. Should have. It was out.

I watched the entire rally. Still can not believe Colorado was called a back-row attack, and don't understand how? Was it a different violation and the announcer is wrong? The refs were calling things Cal's way over and over today, and the replays showed over and over again that they were way wrong. Luck-of-the-draw on reffing and it was corrected most of the time, but the Cal players and coach did cry a lot and put a lot of pressure on the refs.

The play-by-play at 12-10 says Jenna Ewert had an attack error? WTF? She was in the front row!!! It seems this may have been a HUGE mistake by the refs and Colorado may have had that match stolen from them.
