As for the team, their early woes I think were in part due to so many new people and just trying to learn how to gel. I think if they can keep improving they will enter Tourni with just the 1 loss to Iowa St. (which is better than having a 1 loss vs SFA or Arkansas State!) If they can get a favorable draw, they won't be going home right away. While I don't know if they should break the top 25 yet, I do think they are better than SFA & WKU and deserve consideration before those teams do. I like their defensive play and their never give up tenacity. They're going to be a tough put out for whatever regional they are put in. if they don't get stuck facing the seeded team right off the bat, they will go a few matches taking out the others who didn't get seeded. They have talent, they have drive, they just need to keep improving and gain some confidence in themselves. When Sammie is on, she won't be stopped, it was consistency & belief in herself that challenged her most. I hope she finds it in SD. She isn't even the main hitter so hopefully the pressure is off and she can grow into her capabilities.

"Go a few matches"? That implies they would get to the 3rd (or even 4th) round of the tournament. You surely don't think that is likely to happen, do you?

it isn't unheard of that an over rated seeded team gets beat by a complete underdog...FGCU over UCF for example, or Michigan over Pitt, Washington over Creighton...If you are playing the 2nd game, you have a shot... Confidence, staying in the moment and working as a complete team go a long ways in D1 Women's Volleyball, and they have players who have been there before, Sammie has the ring to prove it.
So then I look at these RPI listings, and there are lots of overrated teams that look to be seeded, teams that are very beatable (at least at this point in the season's vantage point) and so yes, they could go 3 or even 4th game if those they play don't play their best and USD gets a favorable draw.

Juhnke is great. Underrated in Minnesota high school, imo. Compared to some others anyhow.

South Dakota is a nice place I came face to face with over 1,000 pounds of buffalo there ... A bison?

The most important thing that everyone’s overlooking is that Juhnke’s brother is fine as hell.

Getting off topic but Falls Park at night with the lights is the prettiest Agreed! Almost got engaged here but decided on somewhere else. Without looking it up, I wonder how many people know what city USD is in in South Dakota. I’m from Vermillion! Happy USD is doing well and finally has a better place to play than all of the Dakota Dome options. I’m a Husker fan because we were close enough to Nebraska to get NET. My 5’5 mom always wanted to be Melissa Elmer.
