This might be an odd question, but do these ladies know the language of everywhere that they play? Does Carlini know Russian or does MBH know Turkish? Especially when they transfer from one team or country to another and the coaches I'm sure only speak their native language.

You are not expecting them to just learn and be fluent in a foreign language on the fly right? You do realize learning a new language is not easy and takes a long while and much effort to fully master it. Time that Carlini does not have before signing up to the Russian league. Oh sure, they can learn a few common phrases to get by, but that's far from fluent. The team will have translators to do the job of communicating between native players and them.

No I was not expecting them to be anywhere near fluent, but was curious if they at least knew some of the language to pick up on key phrases that coaches and teammates would say. I'm sure they try to learn as much as they can while they're there since that's where they're living, but I myself have even struggled to learn Spanish so I just thought it'd even be that more amazing for these athletes if they knew some the native language.

I've really been impressed with Isabelle Haak from Sweden after watch a few of Vakif's matches.

Thompson had 13 kills on 17 swings today and added a couple blocks. Not great competition though (Fenerbahce won two of the sets 25-7). MBH had her first start at OH for Vakifbank and had 12 kills on 21 swings, but a pretty low efficiency. It's going to be a real fight for those pin hitter positions in Tokyo. Just wish at least one of our setters were having a good season. IDK, seems like Hancock is doing just fine every time I find some youtube highlights of her matches. They let her jump serve, with good effect. She’s playing decently. And her serve is doing great numbers this year. But her team is greatly underachieving expectations. Don’t know how much of that should be put on her and how much on the passing but regardless, it would be nice to have some setters who were winning with their teams.

Where do you get this info? social media So, I just looked at her Instagram page. She’s got a couple of posts where she seems to be promoting products-one on August and one in October. Seems like a no-no to me? And am I reading too much into this that Mary Lake isn’t there training? 😐😐😐

She's one of the most exciting players in the world right now, and I don't think she's even 20 years old yet. Definitely following the trajectory that Egonu, Zhu, and Boskovic did.

She promotes products a few times. Can this be done as long as no money is involved? Can she receive free products? Not sure if Mary is in school.
