So, I just looked at her Instagram page. She’s got a couple of posts where she seems to be promoting products-one on August and one in October. Seems like a no-no to me? And am I reading too much into this that Mary Lake isn’t there training? 😐😐😐 Instagram is one of the biggest platforms to market products with many brands having athletes as brand ambassadors. Why would it be a ‘no-no’?

She will likely join the team in May. Or perhaps Maloney is there because Lake isn’t returning. She is getting married and going to grad school.

it was on her instagram story. is mary still in school? Yes, I watched her story. I was looking at her posts. She promotes products a few times. Can this be done as long as no money is involved? Can she receive free products? Not sure if Mary is in school. She graduated last year... She wasn't a college athlete for any of those promotions

I've really been impressed with Isabelle Haak from Sweden after watch a few of Vakif's matches. You're late to the party. She's one of the most exciting players in the world right now, and I don't think she's even 20 years old yet. Definitely following the trajectory that Egonu, Zhu, and Boskovic did. Yeah I think she just turned 20. Unfortunate that her country isn't a strong world competitor. Maybe she can change that.

Haak is a beast and she is just a year younger than Egonu. It saddens me to see Haak hail from a country with about little-to-no international presence when it comes to volleyball! She would be a sight to see in international/Olympic competition.

You are not expecting them to just learn and be fluent in a foreign language on the fly right? You do realize learning a new language is not easy and takes a long while and much effort to fully master it. Time that Carlini does not have before signing up to the Russian league. Oh sure, they can learn a few common phrases to get by, but that's far from fluent. The team will have translators to do the job of communicating between native players and them. No I was not expecting them to be anywhere near fluent, but was curious if they at least knew some of the language to pick up on key phrases that coaches and teammates would say. I'm sure they try to learn as much as they can while they're there since that's where they're living, but I myself have even struggled to learn Spanish so I just thought it'd even be that more amazing for these athletes if they knew some the native language. Of course they would try to do so, especially the volleyball terminology as well as maybe "good job" or "that's great", stuff to cheer your fellow players. Being able to say a few words in their native tongue is generally appreciated by the players, even if they mispronounced it or garbled it up, they would feel you are part of the team as a result.

Lowe/Washington with Busto just got swept by Frantti (and a collection of others... Valentin- PR, Blagojevic- SRB) with Developres Rzeszow from Poland in the CEV Cup.

She did get 4 blocks. I also saw that Plummer played ok but Monza lost 1-3 to Dynamo Kazan and is now out of the CEV Cup.

This is not directed towards you, Toddy; moreso to those who seem to ride a proverbial rollercoaster re: KP's performances. God, she's a rookie barely weeks into the pros! Does not stop some haters, who'd never get anywhere near her stature, from hating.
