At the 44 minute mark, Hawaii had just lost two long rallies where the ball crossed the net I think 15 times and 13 times. In the second rally, Norene tripped over her own feet causing Amber to make a diving save and Rika sent it over on her knees. While the crew was mopping the floors after the point they showed the faces of the players and I don't think I've ever seen such exhaustion when it's only the middle of the second set. No smiles, no encouraging chatter, just wiping the sweat off their faces with dead eyes, trying to recover for the next point. Incredible grit for them to push through and take the set.

USD still sticking around with smiles. Such classacts, hope to see them again here next year 👍 This could really be the start of a great rivalry with USD. A lot of key players are leaving but it seems like they have a pretty good foundation growing there with Frohling. That'd be dope to see! Katie Lukes, who is their kill leader, and Lauren Turner both return next season, along with Frohling, so their offense will be intact. I think their setter will be hard to replace, she was fantastic.

What was the yellow card about? It was apparently the constant arguing of calls from the San Diego bench. I think it was given to the assistant coach.

San Diego was forced out of system a lot, no doubt, but she had a lot of bad sets and questionable decisions on reasonably in-system plays as well.

Frohling looked impressive.

San Diego is still going to be incredibly good next season.
Lukes, Fayad, Turner, Frohling, and Wiblin are all returning, along with Tastad and Benbow in the back row. Madill struggled a bit this season when she played in the 6-2, but she definitely is a capable setter, and we have all see how San Diego has been able to train their setters into high quality players over the course of their careers (ex. Newsome, Gengenbacher). I don't know who they have recruited in their incoming class, but hopefully they have some good freshman coming in.
They should definitely be the favorite to win the WCC again next year and could see them potentially becoming a Top 16 seed next season depending on how well Madill develops as a setter and if they can replace Jacobsen's production in the middle.
Congrats to Hawaii! I hope they take down Nebraska next weekend! This Hawaii team is just so fun to watch and you can't help but root for them.

She's listed as a senior on their roster. Is she getting a redshirt year for the season she missed due to injury?

San Diego has a great coach and program, they'll be good every year. Like UCLA, I'd like to see them in a Hawai'i non-conference tournament annually. Or, maybe Hawai'i could play them in San Diego as part of a mainland tournament. Would like to see that happen, would give me an excuse to travel back to San Diego for a weekend.

For this one match, Rika Okino was like Mary Lake and Morgan Hentz, although I've never seen either Lake or Hentz play. No, I've seen Lake play (BYU vs. Hawaii, 2017) but I don't remember her at all.

I said from the get go, Ross is established and Jolie will come in for Iosia when she’s cold. Best problem a team could have to get to choose whether they want to run Iosia or Jolie as you’re opposite. Sorry to everyone who doubted Ross all season/career long, she’s a major part of this team defensively and offensively and has proven that. So anyone with lingering doubts can simply cancel their Wahine Volleyball Fan Club Membership Just to clarify: Just because your favorite Wahine players were sucking early on in their careers and were justifiably criticized as such, doesn't make anyone any less of a Na Wanine Fan than you and definitely doesn't give you or others sole stewardship of "Wahine Fan Club Membership". The actual "lingering doubts" may be why you would call others out at this juncture when Ross is finally playing to what many have wanted her to do. Move on and enjoy the win and how well your favorite Wahine players are doing without all that nastiness that just takes away part of the celebration of the victory over SD. No. I said what I said. 😊

Love the aunties giving leis to the Torreros. Is this a tradition that they always give leis to the opposing team after the match?
And btw who are these aunties? I know they're always there in the same seats, but how did they come about? I think they need their own twitter and instagram account haha
Using Google, I got this: link
There is another person who provides the flowers: 2 minute point here: link

What was the yellow card about? USD coach was questioning every points given to Hawaii on that portion of the match. Seems like she was just killing the momentum.
