Traditionally, Hawaii has not done well in the NCAA’s in cold weather cities. They lost the 1996 championship match in Cleveland after Angelica Ljungquist, the 1996 AVCA POY (now Hawaii’s Associate Coach) got sick. Their undefeated 2004 team gout bounced in 5 by Wisconsin in Green Bay, with Jill Odenthal playing the match of a lifetime. Save Hannah Hellvig, all of Hawaii’s other players are from warm weather climates. Nebraska does have a big advantage going in. i hope that works in our favor

To get real intel on Nebraska, don't rely on this thread as those husker doofs may be trying to throw us off with false intel. You have to go to actual match threads and Nebraska 2019 threads to identify strengths and weaknesses on that team. Of course, the same is true of Hawaii. LOL! Yikes!

A lot of them are like Hawaii fans. You would think that they are terrible and can't do anything right if you went into some of the match threads lol.

The 2004 team made the incredibly stupid decision to go home after the 1st and 2nd rounds instead of just staying on the mainland.
This year, Hawaii has played better on the road than at home. No excuses, their leaving Tuesday, which is like the perfect day to leave and get over the jet lag by then.

Weather in the 20-30s isn’t much of an issue if they can stay indoors. I have found that the adjustment to extremely low humidity due to both the cold weather and the heating systems, however, can be difficult after living in Hawaii. Both in terms of breathing and weakened immune system. It’s hard for your body to adjust and stay hydrated - my eyes get itchy, my nose gets runny, I can’t sleep, I have a hard time catching my breath, I get an assortment of rashes - but you can see I’m not a world-class athlete. 😃

Hanna Hellvig is not the only cold weather player on the Wahine team. There is also, Tiffany Westerberg, from Canada, Riley Wagoner, from Ohio, Bailey Choy, who played 3 years with Utah. Not to mention BVS, who grew up in Washington. So Hanna Hellvig is not the only cold weather player on the Wahine roster.
