I see your Baylor dis. But I don't buy it. If UW plays at the top of their game, they can beat Kentucky. But I'm not comfortable enough to bet money on it. But I don't see anyone getting out of this regional except Baylor. The most interesting thing about the UW/Kentucky match may be the crowd, which could be nearly non-existent since it's the 2nd game of the day. Making up things in your head is getting to become a habit for you. I complimented Kentucky; you decided (in your head) that I took a dig at Baylor for stating FACTS.
Kentucky has been building consistency as a Top 5-10 program for years. Pretend they haven't if you like.
Dood, I can read. You clearly suggested that if Kentucky can beat UW, they can get to the final four - leaving out the fact that if they beat Washington they most likely will have to play Baylor on Baylor's home court. I don't mind that you insult Baylor. But don't get all snowflake when someone points it out. When I lived and worked in Texas people were tougher than that.

Guess you enjoyed "dissing" Purdue since you assume Baylor will be in the regional final . . .

I'm not dissing Purdue at all, but I do assume Baylor will be in the regional final.

I also think Washington at their best could beat Baylor. I meannnn I don't care if Plummer was injured in the Stanford match (ok I do cuz Im a KP Stan lol), but Washington made Stanford look like poopie. But that’s all hypothetical. How consistently has Washington/Kentucky actually played at their best? Their average/normal play is really all that matters when discussing a matchup. If playing at their best was so achievable, both teams would have less than 6 losses. Calm down , I have nothing against Baylor. I just wouldn’t be surprised if UW wins the regional

But who beats who at their best just doesn’t seem like the best basis for discussing which team it is that will make it.

Let me explain this for Horns1 and the other slow ones on here:
I'm a Washington fan. But I readily assume Baylor, playing on their home court, will win this regional.
They're not the #1 seed for no reason. They didn't get that #1 slot because they're not as good as Purdue or Kentucky or Washington.
Now could Washington beat Kentucky and either Purdue or Baylor? I'll be rooting for that.
But some of us can hold multiple thoughts in our head at one time. I can root for Washington while thinking they may well not get past Kentucky, and at the same time I can entertain the thought that they could get past Kentucky and knock off Baylor, while at the same time....sit down, Horns, I know you're getting dizzy...but at the same time I can ojectivly think that Baylor is better than the team I typically root for.
Are you okay? Should I call 9-1-1?

tomclen, yeah yeah, but you know starting a sentence with "I'm not dissing Purdue at all, but" is a guarantee that whatever comes after the "but" will be dissing Purdue. It's like saying, "With all due respect..." -- something everybody knows actually means that the speaker respects the subject only a little tiny more than they respect pond slime. Maybe.

Let me slow down what I said, and interpret it at a lower level:
Kentucky has been building their program for years, and has been a Top 5-10 program the last few years. Washington is the most historic program in this regional. If Kentucky can beat Washington on Friday, they have a very good chance at beating either Purdue or Baylor, IMO.
Didn't realize I was prohibited from providing my rationale as to why I believe Kentucky can reach their first Final Four with two wins this weekend. Thought we were all allowed our opinion when making "predictions".
Anything else you want to imply I said is due to the voices in your head.

I see your point, but in this case you are absolutely, totally wrong. (Not something that happens often for UW fans, not to mention MIT'ers.) But we're talking about our expectations of who is going to win a volleyball match. Example, last Friday I was extremely certain that Washington was going to defeat Winthrop. Does that have to mean I was dissing Winthrop? Now if I were to say something arrogant and idiotic, like Kentucky will go to the finals if they get past UW, completely ignoring Baylor, then, yes, I'm dissing a team.

Kind of like a breakup when one person tells the other it's not them, even though they know they're lying:

Kentucky has been a program that keeps coming close to reaching its first Final Four ever. This could be their year as they don't have to face any traditional powers if they can get by the most historic program in this regional on Friday. He said "could" be their year. Doesn't sound like he is saying "will" get to the Final 4. Seems like a pretty innocent post imo.
