I have said this since the beginning of the season - If Baylor is healthy, they are capable of being as good as any team in the country (well, not counting Stanford). To my knowledge - they couldn't have had a better year in terms of lack of injuries. I mean - Pressley missed 3 sets (which match was this?), Milana 2 sets and McGhee 1 set. 6 other players played in every set - which is pretty much the rest of the team. Also curious to the 'lack of depth' argument. If it is they are lacking great players sitting on the bench (who cares?). If it is the perception that the team is a 1 player team - then I think that is a false narrative. I'm not a Baylor expert but, just based on tournament performances so far, it looks like they have more offensive depth than the Huskies. I'm a huge UW fan, but the poll at the beginning of this thread puzzles me and, I think, seriously underestimates Baylor's potential in this tourney.

We'll see. I've been very happy with UW's play. Bajema has been virtually unstoppable. Baylor will certainly be a challenge. Bajema has been spectacular! I’m excited to see how she goes up against the Baylor block. The one area that Baylor may be able to target is Washington’s passing. If Baylor can continue to serve tough, they could cause havoc for the UW backrow. You've been watching Baylor all year, right? Just how good of a serving team are they?

I hope the voters in this thread poll are correct, but my eyes are telling me they're wrong. Crazy wrong. If Pressley was the only top-level player Baylor had, I think Washington could win. But van der Mark is is lethal, and Baylor seems to come out of the gate at 90 miles an hour. Purdue is a very good team and they squeaked out the 2nd set 25-23 yesterday. But Baylor took the other three sets: -12; -15; -17. It was not really a fair fight. Yeah, they lost at Texas. But they also beat Texas. And they beat Wisconsin 3-1 and swept Hawaii and USC. If Washington can pull off this upset, KCook will have my vote for coach of the year. (Slight exaggeration, but still.) Good points all. I'd like to see W take this one but Baylor at home is to much methinks.

Nothing they do behind the line is crazy. But McGuyre said after the loss at Texas, Shelley Stafford took it upon herself to motivate the team on working to serve tougher. A lot of that has come down to just placement and hitting zones. They all pretty much use float serves except for when van der Mark serves. 8 aces against USC and 8 aces against Purdue. But really they aren’t a team that goes for aces- just fundamentally good serves.

Baylor has been passing 2.22 on the season compared to UW's 2.10. The tournament numbers have an even greater disparity in Baylor's favor. Guess we'll see if this statistic holds up. Passing has been up and down for UW. They do have an excellent OOS option in Bajema. Powell was 4 for 5 calling her own number against UK. UW does look to be the more aggressive serving team, with higher aces and service errors, which can backfire. Will definitely be UW's game plan: get Baylor out-of-system and force them to be predictable (and into UW's block).

More an expression of what voters want to happen, rather than will. Voters can also have mixed interests/emotions - for instance, are Wiscy fans rooting for U-Dub because they think they'll be the weaker opponent in the FF?
