IMO, the lack of the typical UW block was the big factor in this match.
Not only did they lose the 'official box score' block category, but for much of the match they weren't even getting hands on balls and slowing down the attacks. McPherson probably has some serious combat bruises.
Everyone was/is raving about Pressley and van der Mark, but to me, the real difference maker in this match was Lockin. Not only did she hit setter attacks at will, but every time UW put a receiver out of position on a tough serve, Lockin seemed to still turn a bad pass into perfect set.
Baylor deserves their #1 seed. It will be interesting to see if they feel the pressure of the Finals and the distractions that come with it.

Lockin and McGee were the x factors for Baylor. They provided the defense and offense for Baylor when the match was tighter. And UWs block was absolutely non-existent, probably the worst it has been all year. The backcourt did everything they could, but their front row counterparts really let them down.

All good points by tomclen above. Has Lauren Sanders ever played a full match and not had even a block assist? Going into the match, I didn't think UW would match Baylor's firepower, but I certainly expected Niece and Sanders to make their presence known at the net. And yes, Shayne took some bullets from Pressley. My, that woman can hit the ball.
