Pool 3 in 18s seems like the hardest pool. Yorktown and Future are both stacked and then just throw in probably the best player in the country with Sani on St James. Pool 5 also looks like it could be very competitive. Gotta go with Yorktowne and Future here. Yorktowne beat St. James pretty convincingly in 2 sets (25-16, 25-17) at the finals of the KRVA Rally in December. Still can never rule out St. James and Sani (their new facility is amazing btw), don't think EXCEL Red is much of a factor in this pool. Yeah I have to agree with you here, I do know that both St. James and Yorktown were missing an outside at that tournament so hopefully its more entertaining round 2. Also, here is the link to view their facility for anyone who wants, its amazing: www.thestjames.com

Pools in 16s have been updated, so others may have been as well.
In short, the SAS-2s team dropped from 5 overall to 23, with a number of other teams getting minor adjustments, leading to 7 of the 11 pools changing.
EDIT: From a neutral perspective, having observed SCVA fall and HC/JBI tourneys, Rockstar getting a 1 seed seems off, given that they've not done as well as Vegas / Fear / Aspire. C'est la vie - it's a matter of 5 or so spots that are relatively contiguous.

How many bids are going to be given out in 18 open? 9 bids available in all HS open divisions - and all should be awarded. 14s should be 9 as well, per USAV site, but still says TBD on the Chicago site.

BWC announced that updated schedules will be out in the early am to account for drops, pools moving to PM, etc.. for weather impacted travel teams. Set your alarm early and stay check schedules before taking that 6:30 am Uber. USA 18, 18 open, and 16 open are affected at the moment. Maybe 15 open

Complete nightmare getting to Chicago from So Cal with the weather. Each and every flight to Chicago after about 10am pst yesterday was cancelled.
Our team starts at 3pm, with 4 players arriving at 2:35 pm.
I imagine many of so cal teams will have missing players.
Not ideal.

Y'all better realize these weather patterns and airline travel decisions are here to stay for the forseeable future.
Interstates and Airlines just flat out shut down.

Was looking at the results from today and have a question re: how three way ties were decided. In looking at the pool sheets on AES, there are no playoff sets shown. If I remember correctly, in the past there was always a playoff (1 set) for the last spot to stay in gold contention. Doesn't look like that was the case today. Does anyone know if the tie break rules were changed?

A one set playoff resolves a tie only when advancement towards a bid is in question. If a two way tie, and both teams advance there is no playoff. Today in both 18 open and 16 open there were three way ties that were resolved with a one set playoff. The team with the highest winning set percentage advances to first place and a one set playoff between 2nd and 3rd place determines who advances. If a bid is not in question, no playoff.
