Some of the worst officiating I've seen here when a clearly late hit on Kenny Pickett was uncalled, and then the referee laughably announced that "the action on the quarterback was legal." Dude is lucky that there wasn't some action on the referee after he said that. Anyway, James Daniels did the right thing and floored Hamlin so that he didn't get away with it completely unpunished. And now I'd like to see Daniels inducted into the Steelers Hall of Honor immediately. Maybe he could have held up, but it was legal. Hamlin and Pickett were teammates in college at Pitt. Hamlin immediately got up and walked with Pickett talking with him. The hit on TB12 was completely legal and it's tragic a flag was thrown. The narrative of the Brady effect continues. Just terrible. Bills are very good but we knew that. This Chiefs and Bills game should be terrific next week but doubtful it will live up the greatest playoff game ever the year before. Giants vs Dallas too should be good. How about the NY Giants. Wow is NYC happy with it's sports teams....except the Mets... Not penalized is not the same thing as "legal." But yes, the Tom Brady "roughing the passer" call was even worse.

But yes, the Tom Brady "roughing the passer" call was even worse. and another ridiculous "roughing the passer" call against the Chiefs (benefiting the Raiders) towards the end of the first half tonight. Defender strips the ball from the QB, basically recovers it as both were going to the ground, and even braces (against the ground) with his other arm when landing so as to avoid putting his full weight on the QB. But they still flag it, negating the turnover and giving the Raiders a first down. Ridiculous. If you're not going to allow defenders to touch QBs without penalizing them, then it is time to make QBs wear flags and be down when their flag is pulled.

Last night's roughing the passer call on Carr was 100X worse than the Brady call. This really needs to change. Sounds like video review is the answer - like they do with 'targeting'. Although the ref is still defending his call after the game, which pretty much makes him unqualified to ever ref an NFL game again.

McCaffrey to the Niners. As a Niners fan, I'm cautiously excited, if that makes sense. On one hand, CMC was my first-round fantasy draft pick two seasons running, and he played like 6 games total. Not good. OTOH, if he's healthy, he's going to score double-digit touchdowns this season in that offense, particularly with Trent Williams (arguably still the best O-Lineman in the NFL) ready to return.

Worth the risk for the 49ers. They have the 2nd strongest roster behind the Eagles in a pretty darn weak NFC. This may be their window for a Superbowl run. That said the Eagles are living off that +14 takeaway advantage which we all know can dry up really quickly. I like the move. "Staying Healthy" is every teams mantra.

so when was the last time both aaron rodgers and tom brady had losing records at the same time this late in the season, if at all?
got to admit rodgers was okay until he lobbied to take over as jeopardy host. at least ken jennings earned his celebrity from actually appearing on the show.

eagles already trailing houston 7-0. so what? well every score houston gets makes it that much tougher for philadelphia to cover spread. minus 14. yes betting on spreads makes people pay attention to games they otherwise would not. especially those clunkers the nfl has had on thursday recently.

how about the Jets, Jaguars and Lions all winning in Week 9? And what has happened to Green Bay, the Raiders and the Rams?

another crummy thursday game between Carolina and atlanta. 3-0 home team in second quarter. seriously except for thanksgiving and the season opener it would be nice for the nfl to get off thursday nights.
maybe we would have higher quality games if the players were given their normal week to get ready for the next game.
it's not like baseball where the guys stand around for most of the game.
