Some posts display a real lack of knowledge about the club volleyball landscape and both had really definitive statements. Below are facts 3 clubs from the Mideast Power League are consistently Top 20 clubs in the country and do not attend USAV qualifiers. Munciana, Tri-State Elite, and KIVA are all consistently very competitive. None of these clubs question their place in the national landscape. Tri-State Elite's 18s finished 3rd at Triple Crown and 5th at USAVs. Munciana 18s finished 13th at Triple Crown and 9th at USAVs. KIVA and Tri-State both have Top 20 17s teams. Munciana and Tri-State both have Top 10 15s teams.

Your use of semantics is odd to say the least. All of them attended a qualifier, probably because they know the players and parents want to as they want to compete against the best.

The key statement- “ none of these clubs question themselves in the national landscape”. But your players and parents do as they wonder why they’re not playing in the best tournaments w/ the best competition. In the end most clubs look out for the club and not the best interest of the player. Let’s just all agree triple crown is the true national championship so move 18’s to March and the rest can play end of June. All is solved, may the best team win. Oh but that reduce the number of make believe national championships and reduce the money made by the clubs now wouldn’t it!!

My team has less than 20 practices rolling into Triole Crown. NTR teams had played 30-40 matches by then. I’ll agree it’s the hardest tournament, but we’re not trying to peak in February. We’re trying to peak in July.

Agree, it would be the true national championship if moved to March for 18’s and end of June for all other ages.

Solution has been suggested. The timing of the UA championships during Jva worlds is the perfect weekend. I will say problem would be teams just getting back from spring break so might have limited practice. Ok, now that I say that there might not be a good weekend to do it We had kids miss prom to be there that weekend. I think all of April and May is tough in that regard .. up to and including Memorial Day weekend. Next year the UA National Championships .. if they are again in conjunction with JVA World Challenge ... will be during spring break. I think USAV just has to do their best. And people make choices.

TSE follows a Master Trainer philosophy and they will tell you up front the training is more important than the tournaments. The proof is in the pudding, they produce a lot of D1 players.

Drive Nation just announced they received a 17-Open At Large. This surprises me. They didn't even win the National bid in the regional tournament. I assumed any At Large to NTR would have gone to Madfrog.

2 of the 3 at large bids for 16s have gone to AZ SKY and Academy NC. Still one more to be announced. 2 were available for 13s and they went to AZ Storm and HPSTL.

Academy NC won a qualifier didn’t they…? Yep, they sure did. Academy North Carolina won Big South. Academy 16 National from Academy Volleyball Club in the NC region got the At Large. Thanks for the help. Side note: Dear club directors, can we get some creativity with the names, please?
