Wonder when the last time was that an ACC team went out to Hawaii in non-con, if ever.

So who do you all think will be on the court for the first set against SMU?
Here's my too-early guess at the starting lineup:
Setter - Lang Left side hitters - Adeyemi, Alexander Middle Blockers - Bamis, Sylvester Opposite - Arquette Libero - Ikenaga

This is probably the best line up they can put together without Hakas. I could also see Way, Mane, and the HPU transfer getting looks there too.

I think this is the opening game I’m most excited for! Can’t wait to see what the bows can do in the post Igiede era. And will the mustangs continue their success from last season? It’s going to be such a good opening game for both teams!!

A lot of the highlights and videos I've seen so far has Adrianna setting the second team. If she is going to be the starting OPP, she is going to need more reps at OPP. I know Noreen did hit and set but that was on the tail end of her career and has established herself by then. My gut tells me Monahan is going to start somewhere. Either Mili at MB and Monahan at OPP or Monahan at MB and Mili at OPP. When Hakas comes back, we COULD move back to a more traditional 3 pins offense. Right now, we don't have enough bodies.

Alexander is taller, height wise, will put up a better block, at Opposite. But if Way is 100% healthy, we could also see Way, at Opposite. Do not believe we will see Monahan at any other position then at Middle.

I can't imagine Monahan contributing. Her stats at HPU were pretty average - will all due respect. I see her and Mane as depth/practice players. All things considered, they will likely play at some point with how little depth we have. Still, I'd assume Arquette and way would be ahead of them too.

Yea I was thinking the same about Mane and Monaghan. Unless Mane especially has made major strides in the off season but I find it hard to believe. I’m thinking until Hakas is back, Caylen and Stella are on the left and Arquette on the right over Way. Only because I’m going off of what was said about Adrianna’s arm and not sure how back to full health Maddie is. I can see Hawaii throwing in a carousel of rightsides for Kate in the front row to get Arquette setting reps, if she’s the future and Matias is the reserve, better to get her as many looks at possible this “rebuilding” year as she has another year with every hitter, Kate doesn’t.

SMU should be running
Jamison Wheeler/Maya Tabron Natalie Foster/Nnedi Okammor Celia Cullen/Naya Shime (maybe DS Brooke Frazier) Ellie Bolton
then little Batenhorst might serve sub for Cullen again

I think she led them in aces last season. but Cullen’s should be fine for like PVF/LOVB
