Ah Mow was ready to pull some of the starters tonight because at one point 4 different players was waiting on the bench to go in

Did Ah Mow just call Kate, Katherine? Saying the team has some Robins to be a second star behind Alexander but “the team just had to use them, Katherine” Yeah, they have a great bond tbh. Rob and Kate. Rob is intense but Kate is use to it. And she been here 5 years with Rob and her intensity and she never ran for the hills. She embraced it and kept going. She gets the hardest criticism out of them all because she is THE setter and Rob was a former setter. But she still keeps plugging away. Go Katherine Go! Hahaha

Katherine's set distribution a little better tonight--still Alexander heavy but everyone being used a little more.
Definitely a coming out party for Mili, and Stella had her second consecutive solid game in a row.
The team is really close to being good. As mentioned, it's been a long time since we had two pins with firepower--we just need the support around it now.
This San Diego team will look better when SD has Nemo Beach back full time and can help take the load off of Osunsanmi.

Congrats Hawaii! Obviously Caylen is the main offensive outlet, but if Stella can keep being low error and contributing like this I think this bodes really well for the Wahine.
USD is young, and I think Osunsanmi has a ton of potential. I think they could potentially fight their way to a bid at the end of the season, but there definitely is some work to be done. I do think this team looks better than last year's team imo.

I think one rotation that needs to be worked on is when Lang and Alexander are both in the front row and Alexander is taken out of the play due to passing the ball in transition. Who does Lang go during that scenario? It’s either to a middle or Hakas if the pass is doesn’t allow a set to the middle.

Some personnel thoughts...
- Kate played a great game today. With similar-level passing as yesterday, she kept Caylen to ~10 attempts per set, and got good production from the middle. Her block touches were effective. I can see why she got a good look at the USA gym. Mili is in good hands with Kate helping her develop ala Amber. - Caylen: thank you! That killer instinct to score a point and her natural athleticism are now backed by better mechanics (high contact point!) and shot selection. Her passing was not a liability this weekend. Robyn said "something clicked," and it is showing! - Good things happen when Sylvester swings. I appreciate her trying to minimize errors, but her tips to the middle of the court were not effective. Maybe try deep in zone 1, but she is better off using that arm. - Our smalls played big this weekend! Some interesting choices, like having Tayli play right back. Their serve receive this weekend was solid. I can why Leyva got a good look at libero. I'm excited to see her be more aggressive and share control of the back court with Tayli. - Hakas will get better. Her passing and defense will keep her in the back court. Hitting .231 with just 2 days of practice with the team is not bad, and my guess is she was practicing mostly as an OH in the spring and in the Israeli team. I can see her hitting some 2 balls in an X-play, or Kate bringing her in more. If that .231 doesn't improve, Mane deserves a look for the front row too. - Mili is the real deal. What a great get. - Bamis, for being the only middle in the spring, is the only disappointment for me on this team. There were just stretches where she seemed lost.
I really want to see stats without set 1 a the better barometer for this team.

You can shift the passing rotation to Hakas-Ikenaga-Leyva so that Alexander doesn't have to pass if it's problematic. They should not bleed a lot of points in that rotation.

We haven't had a regular .200 from the Opposite position since the Hellvig days. If you tell me Tali will hit .231 the entire season I'll take it any time.

It’s more during transition where Alexander is pulled in due to getting a dig in transition. It happened tonight in the 4th I think where the ball was set to no one and almost hit the floor.

Welp, you know, the first set was unsightly again, but the Wahine are 2-0 in actual match records against solid teams. RAM can coach, that is for sure!

All I gotta say… the Wahine have a better record than Wisconsin lol
And one more thing, Hawaii was able to win the game with a 25-11 set loss

She did a much better job of keeping her unforced errors lower this evening. Hopefully she will continue to build upwards as the season goes on.
