Hawai’i deserves to lose that match. Literally needed 7 points left in the 4th and couldn’t close it out.

What a long battle for both teams, but Pepperdine were just stronger at the end of the 4th and in the 5th. Now how much energy do players have left for tomorrow haha.

Tough loss but a lot to take from that match. Another chance tomorrow to bounce back and end the weekend on a high note!

Idk I think I just want to see a Caylen/Tali OH pairing vs Caylen/Stella. I know it throws some things off with the subs but I think it’s worth looking at if Tali can be better help than Stella. She was high error for no reason, just picking bad shots.

I didn’t expect us to go undefeated this year
We were bound to lose a few
It’s how you regroup
Let’s just not lose the first set tomorrow please

With this passing I think we need a setter in the front row So this doesn’t happen Aslo a setter that can play defense and stop starring in the clouds. lolo kei'a

Pepperdine wins! Great job by the Waves! Pepperdine hit .258 to Hawaii at .153. The Waves also had 58 kills to Hawaii's 62. Caylen led Hawaii with 23 kills hitting .131. Miliana showed more growth with 9 kills hitting .368 with 9 blocks! Congrats to Tayli for breaking the 900 digs milestone with 27 digs! Chillingsworth had 20 kills and hit .381. Somewhere in the 4th set Pepperdine got back to service line and just let it rip. In the process they put pressure on Hawaii's passing and OOS play. The Wahine committed 25 unforced hitting errors to Pepperdine's 7! While Grace and Birdie were great for their team, I thought that the libero, Stenger, was the key. She extended so many rallies for her team and her positioning and willingness to step into the line of fire is something that I think got into Caylen's head. It also seems that she also poached a lot of passes from her outsides. She was also great at putting her team right back in system with her second ball contacts. I expect Caylen to shake it off tomorrow. She did take another 61 swings tonight and just couldn't calibrate it down the stretch. Still a mighty effort by Caylen and the Wahine! GO BOWS!

i like this lost for them.
for the whole team, to learn that they can't just write off the first set and expect to start playing set 2 and on. bringing their best volleyball from the start.
for the setters to be more consistent and to learn to lead their hitters and not put them tight at the net against big blocks.
for the servers to put pressure while keeping it in.
for the hitters to step up when caylen is not herself.
and for caylen to feel the weight of the team on her shoulder.
back at it tomorrow.
